"This is the second time we used Brian for our landscape projects. This project included a large patio with a 50ft long retaining wall. Brian was there every step of the way, from initial design to final execution. The results even exceeded our high expectations. The hard-working crew started early and finished late, always leaving the area neat and cleaned up every day and at the finish of the project. We checked out about 5 other contractors, but Brian's price was very competitive, plus knowing first hand the quality of his work...it was a no brainer. Brian is a great guy and puts a lot of pride into his work......and it shows! Would hire him over and over again!"

"Bryson is very professional in every aspect of his business dealings. He was prompt in arranging a time to come and discuss my project, get me a quote, and schedule a time to complete the actual work. Bryson and his crew get at it, too. He has all the equipment and he shows up and works. If he doesn’t have the ability to do something, he has people he knows that he can use and has established connections in many related areas of landscaping. Bryson is very fair in his pricing and is willing to work until the job is done."

"The quality of the work performed was excellent. We had our existing porch screened in with additional lighting added, added an extension our patio to include a fire pit, and had 2 new lighting fixtures installed in our kitchen. All the services were completed in a timely manner and correctly without rework. The project was completed within budget. Dave and his team were easy to work with and proactively suggested alternatives to our original design that showed his experience regarding successful outdoor projects. Our family highly recommend using DG Builders and will be using them for another project we had in mind."

"The team is pleasant to work with. Nice folks. The work was done well, for the most part. Attention to detail could have been better. Steps in the flagstone pathway wobble; this was a key part of the job for which I was charged approximately $4,000. Elsewhere a few rotted railroad ties were left that should have been replaced, or at least discussed; and railroad ties of different sizes were used in part of a retaining wall (which doesn't look nice). Lastly, the final statement was $800 higher than estimated or discussed, about 15% of the related work in the initial estimate. Maybe 15% is within reason, but I do not believe the work of the overage merited that cost (such as moving wires for $100), but it did merit discussion before being handed the bill."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Roebuck, SC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
