Customers say: Quick response

"Mitch Tolson is wonderful. He is experienced and knowledgeable. I had a variety of things in my condo that needed repairing and he did every one of them. His work is excellent and he is one if the nicest people I have ever met. I am already prioritizing other things around here that need attention. I will always call him first in the future. Unless heâ s too busy for me, I will hire him every time."

"In the past 5 years we have re-done our entire house - replaced all windows & doors to meet hurricane code, Mater Bathroom, front entry, pool, patio, back deck, carpet and finally the kitchen using a number of contractors - Chris Fuller, owner of Kitchen Bath and Glass Center is the worst contractor, HANDS DOWN. We spent >$30K with him on cabinets, counter tops, sink, and a center island quartz top. We were told the project would take "4-6 weeks" and actually took >15 weeks to complete and the delays are due to inferior workmanship, poor quality cabinets and outright mistakes made by Kitchen Bath and Glass, here are the facts: Chris Fuller never once set foot in our house prior to, or during the renovation project - even after all of problems started. When they did start, he initially took our phone calls but soon reverted to having his employees respond. Kitchen Bath and Glass Center ordered the wrong Quartz material for the island and it took two weeks to replace it. When it finally arrived it couldn't be installed because " the cabinets weren't square". His cabinet installer didn't line up the cabinets properly. The Kitchen Bath and Glasss Center countertop and cabinet subcontractors work required both of them to make numerous return visits to fix visually obvious defects - both subcontractors were criticized by the other installers, electricians, plumbers, tile guys, etc. One said, "I haven't seen this shabby of cabinet work in 18 years on the job". Another subcontractor from Orlando said, "Brevard county construction work is not very good but this counter top is terrible". The countertop subcontractor measured and made the wrong cuts - and didn't order the replacement product until 3 weeks later; nobody at Kitchen Bath and Glass bothered to check into this until we complained. When it was finally ordered we were told it was "out of stock in the state of Florida" and wouldn't be in for at least 3 weeks. Kitchen Bath and Glass Center ordered the wrong cabinets - we wanted a drawer capable of holding hanging files; they "forgot". The workmanship of the cabinets was shoddy - we have warped cabinet doors and three different portions of cabinets didn't have internal hardware installed or was only partially installed. The project is now complete thanks to multiple shims, glue, and faux pieces of trim. We are not satisfied with the outcome. My recommendation: Avoid Kitchen Bath and Glass COMPLETELY - You can easily find a better contractor than Chris Fuller for ANY project to be done on your house."

FAQs for deck or porch repair projects in Roseland, FL

Composite and ipe hardwood decks provide the longest durability for your outdoor space. Composite decks last 30 years exactly, and ipe hardwood decks continue reliably for 75 years when maintained properly. Frequent cleaning and sealing preserve these materials and protect them against weathering. This exceptional endurance minimizes future repair needs and offers a solid, lasting investment.

Replacing your deck directly increases your home’s market value and enhances its curb appeal. A new deck returns between 50% and 65% of its cost in additional home value at resale. This upgrade not only modernizes your outdoor living space but also significantly bolsters buyer interest, ensuring that your investment adds both functionality and an attractive aesthetic.

You should replace your deck when visible signs of wear begin to compromise safety and functionality. The quality of maintenance and the durability of the chosen materials determine when a deck reaches the end of its life. For example, decks crafted from superior materials like mahogany or ipe hardwood can last over 50 years, while cedar decks require replacement after 15 to 20 years. Regular inspections help guide this decision.

Your deck needs to be replaced when clear structural issues compromise its safety. Indicators include soft spots, sunken boards, scattered wood shavings, and hollow sounds that indicate rot or pest damage. These symptoms show that simple repairs are insufficient to maintain a secure deck. A professional evaluation is essential to confirm whether full replacement is necessary to protect your outdoor living area.
