"The project went very well. Timing and budget were met. More importantly, I had a curvy design (drawn on graph paper) and a new material in mind (recycled rubber pavers, now offered by Azek). Unlike many of the contractors I spoke with, Jeff from MasonWorks was willing to work with my design and this unfamiliar material that involved laying plastic grids over the compacted base and then installing the pavers. The pavers themselves could be cut with a woodworking tools. I wanted a dogwood blossom design on the entry and main patios which required a lot of diagonal cuts. I didn't want to pay for the extra labor to make that happen, so MasonWorks team laid the pavers in a random pattern and gave me a few days before applying the sand to lock in when I was able to cut and rearrange the pavers to make my design. I am so thrilled with the result. I had wanted a deck, but the raised terrace was a great solution that didn't conflict with zoning. The work was done in 2011 and, 8 years later, it is holding up really well, even though I did dig out the base material pretty close to the edge of the pavers to allow for more planting. The first photo is from 2018. The others are from 3-5 years ago."

"I needed a landscaper because my lawn was a mess (more weeds and moss than grass, it seemed), and water was seeping into the basement because of improper gutter drainage and soil grading. Oh, and there was a critter, possibly the skunk that was seen in the area, burrowing underground where there was a gap near my patio – ugh! The job he ended up doing included building a trench for the gutter downflow, re-grading the entire lawn, creating flowerbeds, installing a fence, doing concrete work (to keep that critter out!), and paving a small section of the yard to hold trash and recycling bins. Leo and his team showed up when they said they would, worked quickly and efficiently, and with the greatest attitude – all of them were hard-working and easy to deal with. I will definitely hire M&L again for future landscaping jobs, and I highly recommend them to others. My lawn now looks nice and neat, can't wait for the new grass to grow. Thank you, Leo and crew!"

"Bernie was great to work with while setting up the project and his crew, led by Gus, did a fantastic job. We had few things done: - A fieldstone retaining wall along the driveway. Gus led the crew and he assembled the wall and did a wonderful job. The stones look dry-fitted from the front. - A new paver walkway and patio. Bernie helped with suggestions for the design and we ended up re-using our old bricks from the old walkway to create a border around everything. They then graded the yard up and around the patio to create a smooth transition from the level of the patio down to our uneven yard. - Pop up drains in the yard for all the downspouts that would have drained near or over a hard surface. - New fence posts to accommodate the wider walkway. When they were able to get to our house, it was very smooth and everyone working was professional. We also made some minor changes while the patio was in progress which the crew accommodated. After the end of the project we found one small paver that had developed a crack during the compacting process which Gus came back and fixed the very next day. We are very happy with the work that Macauley Brothers did at our house and intend to use them for future projects. I attached some photos right after the work was done and some more after the grass came in."
