Small jobs welcome

I am someone who loves working with my hands. I have built everything from tables and chairs to pergolas and fully functional wood shops. No matter the size of scope of the project I work to ensure that every job is completed with quality. I love to work with all of my clients, whether I am solving an issue they have or bringing their vision to life. You can be as involved or hands off as you would like. My goal is to make sure you are happy when I am finished.

I would like to introduce myself as Leonel Gonzalez, with 7 years of experience in the construction industry. I’ve worked in remodeling of courthouses in Texas which consisted of carpentry such as installing baseboards, cabinets, window trims, custom doors and other furniture. Therefore I also have experience in paint and stain jobs. \nConsidering my self a responsible, honest, and respectful person towards others everything I do is to provide for my family.

"This company provides exceptional work, clear communication and great pricing. JPR Remodeling got our house ready to sell, fixed extensive damage at rental properties, remodeled our company offices and updated our new home. They made the process seamless and worry-free and their customer service is the best I’ve ever encountered. They demonstrated their expertise in everything we threw at them from electrical to drywall to tile and wood work. JPR exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds."

"They did a great job! They called me back the same day and set up for the repair the very next day. They arrived on time and taped off the area so there was no mess. They fixed the crack and charged the amount that I was quoted. Great experience and will definitely use again!"

"The recent storm snapped 5 posts at the ground level (app, 40 feet long). Aaron from Deck to Fence contacted me regarding my post on Angie's. After describing the problem on Tuesday August 13th, he gave an estimate on the price for the work and materials we set the date to 8am on the Thursday the 15th. The team arrived on time, removed all of the cement from the ground opened the holes and set and cemented the new posts. They returned Friday after the cement hardened they finished the fence and removed the old wood and cement. This was the best work I have ever seen and the most professional team I have ever hired. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a repair or a new fence. The price was amazing."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in Royse City, TX

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
