"Bernard did a great job pouring a slab for a shed and trenching and installing conduit for future electrical wiring. He was responsive, on time and did good work, following the drawings I had prepared and making changes where necessary. Bernard went above and beyond, stopping by the house and hauling away a pile of garden debris, without me asking just because he was in the area. I would highly recommend Bernard and would hire him again if I had any concrete or masonry needs."

"Eric and his crew were great to work with and did a fantastic job. When we first met with Eric to discuss the project, we described what we wanted but didn't have a detailed plan. He was able to work with us along the way as the project took shape, making slight modifications where needed. Easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Also responsive - usually not more than a day or two went by without hearing something, and if so, he was quick to respond to a call, email, or text. The project experienced some delays (a week or two) but this was due to rainy weather and beyond their control. The work required installation of a lower retaining wall and filling the area behind it to bring to grade level with the driveway, installation of pavers for a walkway and patio, installation of a second wall using dry stacked stone, and installation of exterior porch steps with bluestone treads. They kept the work area organized, used the fill dirt left over from excavation creatively to build up some eroded areas, seeded and strawed impacted areas, and left everything in good shape. I recommend them highly."

"Graham and his crew were excellent to work with. Graham was able to squeeze us into his busy schedule at short notice. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to come up with a plan to fill our needs for natural privacy screens on our property. He was able to execute within a couple of weeks of that first meeting. Throughout he was easy to communicate with, reliable and punctual. His pricing was fair. We were very happy with the job and will definitely continue to work with him on future projects."

"Greg and his team did an outstanding job. From demo to final inspection, they team was on top of the installation communicating as they went. A few challenges with some finicky tile we decided to use but they worked through the issues and the end result is better than we anticipated. The team cleaned up at the end of each day and, because we work from home offices, was concerned about any noise or disruption. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would highly recommend Greg and his team. But be prepared for a wait.!!! Greg is in such high demand that it can take a bit to get on his schedule but you'll be happy you did!"

"I'll be honest, the work will be completed in a couple of weeks and I know it will be fine. I've worked with Adam so often that he knows what I am looking for and is able to do it with no oversight whatsoever. I can call from Chapel Hill and tell him what I need and he comes up with great solutions. When he can't do a job he knows who to call.  <br /> Several years ago I needed to have some large poplars removed from around a house and Adam helped arrange for an arborist to bring a large crane in to do the work. Managing rental properties from out of state can be challenging and without JW Townsend the places I have managed would not look nearly as nice.  <br /> Some people say that JW Townsend can be expensive and I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives. But, I have never had to go back and fix anything that they have done. That old saying, "you get what you pay for" sure rings true here. And if there is an issue with the work they have done you can be sure that they will come back and make it right.  <br /> There are very few businesses that I could recommend as whole heartedly as JW Townsend. Tell them I said so. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"After discussing the situation with the owner it was determined that we should start with a load of gravel and see if that would solve the problem. Even though the company does provide that service he measured the driveway and sent the information to someone that could provide the gravel for the driveway. We are currently plan to utilize that service and if that does not solve the problem we will consult further with this company. We were very impressed with the prompt and courteous approach from this company."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Ruckersville, VA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
