"Service Master in Greencastle provides excellent service. This is the 3rd time I’ve hired them and am never disappointed. They arrive on time, professional, and do excellent work. I hired them to clean outdoor cushions on a patio set . The cushions were good quality but very dirty from previous owners. Service Master cleaned them good as new ! Very happy with this business."

"Mike King's work from initial consultation to completion and billing was excellent overall. He was very thorough in inspecting our HVAC system and in explaining the proposed solution. He thoroughly answered all of the questions I had at the initial consultation and promptly and substantively responded to followup questions point-by-point. One part of the estimate involved improvements in the return air system, but could only be approximate since what needed to be done could only be known in the course of installing the new system. He was upfront about the uncertainty of the figure, but in fact the actual cost came in somewhat under the general estimate he was able to give.
The Mike King crew arrived at the agreed-upon date and stayed on the job for 4 days until everything was complete. They were great about cleaning up the premises and hauling away debris. While the furnace and air conditioning units had to be replaced anyway, we were most concerned to solve the problem of a 10-degree differential in cooling between the upstairs and downstairs. The Tempstar zonal furnace system Mike recommended solved the problem completely. They noticed and fixed smaller elements (return air vents, direction of some blower vents) that have maximized the efficiency of this new system. Overall there was great attention to detail. When considering equipment, Mike King identified rebates available and promptly sent the necessary forms.
There were two issues with the work that should be noted, but this does not take away from the high level of satisfaction that we have with Mike King's firm:
(1) Shortly after the crew left on the last day I noticed a drip from a pipe coming from a water softener near the new furnace. I called the office right away and emailed pictures of the leak. The same workman came back almost immediately and put on a new joint. About 10 days later the fitting failed. Fortunately I happened to be home and heard the pipe burst and was able to turn off the water. (It would have damaged expensive flooring throughout the house had I not been right there when it failed.) I made an emergency call and they sent another worker back the same day to do a more thorough fix. The firm could not really explain how or why this happened and is upfront that it does not do plumbing. But if so. the workman ought to have stressed that I needed to contact a regular plumber to ensure that the problem was taken care of. But it is consistent with the excellent service I received that Mike King personnel did not just say, "We're sorry, but we're not responsible for plumbing--you'll have to call a plumber to resolve this. Not only did they address the problem, but were very sympathetic and undertook to fix the problem right away.
It's possible that a workman did not cause the leak and that it could have failed anyway at some point. But it is a good lesson as to why it is important that any firm one uses should be fully insured. There could have been thousands of dollars in loss.
(2) In cleaning the dryer duct, the workmen found and removed a bird's nest, thus averting the real chance of a fire. They installed a wire mesh screen on the exterior duct opening. A couple of weeks later, however, the dryer didn't sound right and I noticed that lint had built up against the screen, blocking the ventilation. I solved it by detaching part of the screen so lint would no longer catch. If they clean dryer vents regularly, this is a possibility the installers should be aware of and either not use the same type of screen or tell the homeowner to check to make sure such a buildup does not occur."

"They're under new management and I don't know a lot about the new company. They still have the same office-force. As far as I can see, they do okay. They came out and did what they said they were going to. They seem to be alright, but they got rid of all the old people that used to work for them. I think they should do what they should do. It looks like they do it thoroughly. I called and talked to somebody, of course the gal at the desk knows me since she's been calling me for so many years. I changed my contract a little bit, but I could not get it typed out in a letter. I called and asked for that, but couldn't get it. I couldn't understand the way that it was written and I called and she said that it was all on the sheet that they fill out and give me. I thought I understood what she said, and thought about it later that I didn't know what in the heck she's talking about. I called the office again and did not get her. I told them that I would like to have it written out, typed out, that I have so many more cleanings of the furnace and so many more cleaning of the air conditioning, and I had something added on the furnace and it changed the contract. I wanted to know exactly what I can pick up and read and she just wrote it out on one of their billings. I couldn't read it, I couldn't understand it. We went over it and now that I go back over it, I don't understand it. So, I don't really know what's going on. I didn't pursue it because if I asked where my letter was, she would just say that it was on the bill. I didn't follow up and I don't know exactly what message was relayed to her. If they're going to be a little early they'll call you. If they're going to be a little bit late, they'll call you. I just want to know where I stand with them and have it clarified."

"We hired PuroClean to clean up a horrible mess caused by our plumbing company. PuroClean was prompt, professional, reliable, and super to work with. We did not pay any bills because our plumbing company paid to fix our pool house as it was their fault."

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Russellville, IN

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
