"I was looking to get recessed lighting for my living room. Was looking on Angi for pros. Brian called me and checked on what I was looking for. Then he made an appointment to visit the house to examine the area where the lights would be installed. Then he gave me a quote on the costs which included both materials and labor. I was impressed by Brian's professionalism and excellent communication. I trusted him and hired him for the job. He showed up on the agreed day and time of the job with his crew. They have done a thorough job with the installation and cleaned up after themselves really well. They even removed my existing ceiling fan and tried to cover the hole where it was hanging. Entire time Brian kept me informed about every single detail and he was easy to work with. I could not be happier with the quality of the materials and the work was flawless. I highly recommend Brian for any electrical work."

"My elderly mother called Mr. Electric to get a light installed over her garage door. Mr. Electric came out and told her they could do that but she needed her electric box relaced and they could do everything for $7000. My mother who has memory problems agreed to the service. After they installed the electric box and wired everything up then they told her that her hot water heater that she had installed a few years ago was not up to code because it was too close to the electric box they just installed but they could move it for her for another $5000. Unfortunately, mom paid for this too. I cannot believe there are humans who are so disgusting that they prey on little old ladies for a living. Please be very careful with these crooks because they have no conscious and will take you for every penny."

"HBP electrical came out the same day I called and gave me a great quote on the project and I accepted it immediately, they came out the very next morning and ran electrical to my 15x20 shed with 30amp, 8 outlets on the walls and an overhead light with light switch by the door, ran it to the breaker box inside my house and had it all done in 5 hours I don’t see how they did it so fast but I was amazed 🙌 from the time I called them one day to the time they were finished with the project the next day was 17 hours. highly recommended A+"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Ryland, AL

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
