"Walls have were gouge into the drywall. Our hardwood floors were scratched and I had to ask the movers to put down a runner. We were quoted 4 hours and the move took 12. We were charged double. I was told that once a change order was submitted for additional time needed and a new cost I would be contacted to get the ok. We were quoted 4 hours and the move took 12 hours. Our estimate more than doubled. I understand that it was a big move but no one ever called me to inform me of the change in costs. 3 movers spent 1 hour trying to put back a door that was taken off to get furniture through."

"This company went above and beyond with literally hours of notice. After multiple other moving companies cancelled on me this crew showed up and did an amazing job. I called them just hours before I needed help and they showed up and did the thang! I would recommend this company to anyone anytime anywhere. They were respectful with my items and my family, and they were fast and efficient. My stuff arrived in perfect condition, all due to the care and good effort out in by these amazing men. Thank you again for helping my family start our new life. ❤️"

"If you?ve been scammed out of crypto, don?t automatically think it?s all gone forever. I honestly thought I was done for when it happened to me. Back in November, I lost thousands of dollars to a crypto scam. When I realized what had happened, I completely panicked. I ended up opening up to my brother about it, and he helped calm me down and connected me with an Anthony who actually knew how to track and recover stolen crypto. With time and patience, the funds were recovered, and I was also given advice on how to avoid getting scammed again. I?m really grateful things worked out for me, and I know how overwhelming it feels when you?re in that situation. Just know there can still be hope if you?re careful and get the right help. if you have any enquiries or you are once a victim feel free to reach out to the agent who help me EMAIL: Barristerthompsonwalers@gmail.com"

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We provided adequate furniture pads and shrink wrap to hold it on our expensive furniture. What came out of the truck was a mess. We were moving cross-country and had a 26' truck to fill. At one point we stopped the two young men who were our packers and asked why the expensive headboard they were carrying into the truck wasn't wrapped. They said that they wrapped pieces when they got them in the truck. We went back to what we were doing and didn't feel as if we needed to monitor them. Bad call on our part. The unpackers on the other end stopped unpacking the truck when they came upon the problems, asking "Who the H**l packed this truck?" Examples: Deep gouges on a table top that was placed on its side between a metal garage shelf and a wrought iron patio table. The wrought iron patio table was placed on top of a delicate capiz shell side table--neither was wrapped. The top of my grandmother's rocker was SNAPPED OFF because it rode upside down for 12 hours stacked on a pile of equally unprotected furniture and the pivoting action snapped off the scrolled top of the back of the rocker. The base of another table was stacked on top of a filing cabinet. Leather kitchen chairs were stacked on top of each other with the legs poking into the leather seats. Truly an amateur packing job. At the beginning of the day my boyfriend inquired about their experience--one said he was new but had moved his cousin multiple times in the past year and the other said 6 months. I'm sad because I used Phil and Ted's when I moved to MN and had the exact opposite experience 5 years ago. When the damage was noted, the unpacking stopped and I photographed how the remainder of the truck was packed as well as the damaged items as they were brought out of the truck. I immediately called Jordan and left a voice mail that I needed an ASAP return phone call because of the damage and described what I knew about. Two days later, no call. Three days later, no call. I called and left another voice mail. Finally, five days after the original call I received a text message that I should text photos of the truck loaded by them and a photo of the truck before it was unloaded. When the truck was loaded and before it was unloaded we had absolutely NO idea what lay behind the items closest to the door so why would we photograph? I provided 23 photos of damaged items. I also alerted the credit card company I used to pay for the services. They contacted Jordan as well and did not reverse the charges as, although damages were incurred, the services were rendered. Jordan refuses to address the issues because he said it could not be determined if the damage was done by his crew or the unloading crew. Since the unloading crew stopped unloading when they found damaged items and we photographed the items before they moved any further, it's very clear the damage was caused by Phil & Ted's failure to adequately pad our belongings. "Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Saint Cloud, MN

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
