New siding was installed without a problem, and the contractor corrected many faults in the original work. Even where siding was patched into existing work, the results were beyond expectations. The porch post repair went easily and smoothly with no damage to my existing trim. If not for the new treated post, you would not know any work had been done. "I can not say enough great things about Keith Jones from JCE Installation and Repairs. From the very first contact Keith exhibited high integrity, punctuality, and open communication. I have never met a contractor with such a strong work ethic and integrity. He genuinely cares about the quality of work he does. He listened patiently to all of my concerns and instructions regarding the installation of 10 new paneled solid core door slabs to replace the old flat hollow core doors. He explained in a way that I would understand what he would be doing, then did exactly what he said he would do. He does the work carefully but quickly and places a drop cloth under each door he is working on to catch any mess then completely cleaned up any shavings after. Our home is over 120 years old and nothing is level or square so it was a challenge, on top of that I am an absolute nut for symmetry. I am beyond pleased and so happy with the new doors and installed door knob sets. They are absolutely beautiful. Keith is a highly detail oriented, resourceful, meticulous, skilled craftsman. He trimmed all the doors to perfection and bored all the holes for the door knob sets and installed the knobs and hinges beautifully, readjusting the doors as needed to fit all of our very crooked door frames. I had some horrible experiences with flakey contractors in the past, but Keith has given me a great example of how a contractor/craftsman should ideally conduct themselves through all aspects of a project. I would definitely hire him again, it was a pleasure to have him in our home. He truly enjoys installing doors."

"I left a message on Bob's phone for an estimate.  He responded within hours.  We discussed in detail over the phone the repairs I was needing.  He gave me a verbal estimate on the phone and scheduled an appointment to see the work and schedule the job date.  He was able to visit my home the next week and after seeing the job, he confirmed the amount discussed over the phone.  He got to work the next day, and even fit in the installation of a garbage disposal that broke the night before he arrived.  He did a fabulous job!  I had an invoice in the mail the following Monday, which was right on target and budget as agreed.  I will definately use Bob Goodman of Lighthouse Handyman in the future.

I have always been a do it you selfer -having built my over sized garage, revised the house roof line to replace a flat roof over a family room and added large addition to the existing house.  I had several maintenance items I needed done but at age 81 things are a little harder. So I joined Angie;s list to find a quality tested contractor.  I picked  A Good Guy  from the monthly St. Louis listing.  I contacted Bill Clifton and asked him to come by and look at my projects .He  arrived promptly at the appointed time.  Was easy to talk to and very professional.  He took photos of the areas needing work.  Said he would get back with on estimates for

the work.  He responded promptly with reasonable dollar estimates for the projects. We set a date for each activity. He and his crew showed up and started working.  The siding work was done first 

, then the rebuild of 16 feet of privacy fence and then the soffit replacement...The work quality was excellent (they did what I would have done if I were younger)  The crew was very professional.  Clean up was also excellent.  I plan to us A Good Guy for any future needs.

I had a list of projects and he proceeded to complete them wasting no time and completing them in a very efficient manner. One of the projects was the instillation of a dog door which was not completed the first day because a part was needed. He returned as soon as the part was available and completed the job.
