"Brad was professional, punctual and personable. Initially I showed him some bricks that were either loose or totally off our front steps to our house. We also needed some repair on a brick walkway set in mortar. Upon his extra thorough inspection of the steps, many more bricks were slightly loose. He gave me many options. He told me that the labor costs would be more extensive to repair all the bricks on the treads and suggested a solid stone tread. He offered options on this product and layout. The project turned out beautifully and looks like it should have always had the stone on the treads. He also pressure washed and sealed the walkway and stoop vastly improving the look. We built our house in 1995 and this was all original."

"Drew and his team did an exceptional job making our landscaping dreams come to life. Drew was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. He kept us updated and did a great job of checking in during the process when little changes were possible/necessary. We are a new construction home in an established neighborhood, so we wanted a certain look. He installed rain gardens, a bio swale, a blue stone paver patio, concrete pads, arbor vitae, two retaining walls, a sprinkler system, and planter boxes, as well as planting many flowers, bushes, shrubs, etc., We are so happy and would 10/10 reccomend!"

"I have 20 year old paver patios and sidewalks that needed some significant repairs. Owner Dave and his crew are very knowledgeable and did a terrific job. Workmanship was excellent and communication was as well. Pricing was very reasonable. There are a lot of new paver installers, but if you need brick paver repair, this is your contractor. Highly recommend Northern Brick!!"

"Mark came out to look at the area in question. He made some recommendations for size and design to match the style and look of the house. He sketched out the patio dimensions and provided a price. I hired them and they came to perform the work as scheduled."

"They were very courteous and professional. Work area always cleaned. In fact, they took the time to clean and re-use existing brick so bay window would retain aged look and flavor of older home, which also saved cost of new brick. They made sure to match the color of the windows caulking."

"The crew did a good job from beginning to end. My frame is sagging, and sometimes the water is leaking into the house under heavy rain. They took care of both. They know what they are doing and exceeded my expectation."

"We have a large, heavily wooded and therefore shady back yard. It’s about 1/3 acre in Rochester Hills and is laden with weeds and brush making it nearly impossible to maintain. We called Rob for a quote and to help paint a vision for design. This is where Rob shines. We only knew that we wanted a focal point, fire pit area for entertaining and to reclaim much of the unusable, untamed land. Rob brought in pictures, samples, walked the property with me and my Wife multiple times as we refined and honed the vision. With this type of larger scale land and hard-scaping it would be nearly impossible to design the entire project ahead of time. That’s where our faith in Rob and the Sinacori crew is essential. Rob actually grew up in our sub and between that, seeing many of their projects first hand and knowing their excellent reputation we moved forward with a $25k+ project that we felt was a reasonable price for the scope of work. The best way for us to describe the outcome is one word - oasis. The project took 6 days in total and started with brush removal and excavating a path to what would become the dramatic fire pit focal point dug out of the side of a sloping hill. Each day Rob would meet with us multiple times to update on progress, ask questions and plan for the coming stages/work. This gave us time to think and plan and made for an incredibly collaborative relationship that translated into a project that has exceeded our expectations. Each day the crew was on time, stayed the expected duration, were efficient and thoroughlu cleaned up at the end of the day. Very impressed with their work ethic. I can’t possibly do justice to the process and outcome in this write up other than to say - if you are considering any size project please give Rob and the Sonacori Team a call and trust in their incredibly skilled, plan full, efficient and professional approach. Thank you for an incredible job Rob and Crew!"

"After interviewing 3 different landscape companies & considering 2 others, we decided on Haddad Landscaping. This is primarily because John Haddad, the owner himself, arrived equipped with business documentation, examples of their work, & prepared to answer all of our questions. He took the time to walk through our property, listen to our concerns, and measure potential site work. Haddad initially indicated somewhere around a 2-4 day time frame & a moderate price tag to complete the work. John Haddad returned a few weeks after the initial quote since some time had passed between interviews with other companies. Haddad prefers to do stonework but are not afraid of taking on basic landscaping work too. The work crew proved to be a young motivated duo whose optimism & strength outpaced the brutal June heat. They graciously accepted our offers of cold bottled water at times & stayed the course which included removal of a dozen tough thorny midsize bushes, 2 small trees (including one ugly 8 foot+ buckthorn, shrub trimming, and a few other laborious tasks. The whole crew was friendly though I believe the work was more than they anticipated. Although not the least expensive quote, we believed Haddad Landscaping met our early Summer season need for a tremendous jump start on the overgrown & over planted yard in our new home."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Saline, MI

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
