Customers say: Quality work

"This is the second project I hired Wolfe Concrete to do, since they had done such a good job for me the first time. The driveway, sidewalk and steps they did turned out exactly as expected at the price quoted, and was actually completed earlier than originally quoted. Glenn is great to work with, and his crew is also very professional and courteous. They also do a great cleanup of the worksite. I definitely recommend this company."

"It went great. Not only did they provide what we needed but they went above and beyond to suggest and add to our job a small concrete walkway to our fence for no extra cost. Such a friendly group, easy to work with, quick with high quality results! I will definitely recommend and use them again."

"During our home remodel - we removed two rooms with 40 y/o saltillo tile so we could lay hardwood floors. Unfortunately, the sub-flooring concrete below the tile was not suitable or level enough to lay wood floors. This is where Xevex came in to help. Rick came out to provide an estimate, his recommendations and a timeline for us to expect. Rick and his team at Xevex did a fantastic job. Communication with Rick was excellent. During the job Rick checked in with us often to ensure everything was meeting our expectations - this included text messages and pictures from start to finish. I will say, we had multiple bids for this project and Xevex was priced right. We highly recommend Xevex and the work they performed was excellent. Thanks again Rick and team!"

"Marco and Pamela came out and gave me a quote to pour a concrete slab for a shed with a reamp. They gave me a quote for a 5" slab with an 8" footer with rebar. Their quote was the lowest price that I received from 4 contractors. And their work was excellent. My driveway has a number of cracks and I was concerned about the weight of a concrete truck on my driveway. So to accommodate me they had the truck park in the street and they used wheelbarrows to carry the cement to my backyard. And when they had finished the concrete work a big rain storm came though. So they stayed late and kept plastic above the new slab to divert the water from harming the new slab. They are great! And there is a 3 year warranty, which I have not needed."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in San Marcos, TX

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
