We began our journey as hardwood installers in 2004. Our customers loved us and wanted us to specialize in more surfaces, so we expanded into stone fabrication in 2006. Later in 2010, we started installing tile. We opened our first showroom in 2014. Shortly after, we began working with carpet and vinyl. Since then we've expanded to blinds, and interior design. "Few years back I used PHF (Portland Hardwood Flooring) to re-polish the hardwood at my property. Cris and his crew did a fantastic job. Price was reasonable, result was top of the line, schedule was kept on time. Last year, I got another floor problem at my kitchen area, this was an engineered wood floor. Hoping to get a good repair result, I called Cris on sometime July 2020. Maybe Cris was to busy, he assigned the work to his partner, Nick. I felt that Nick did not really work attentively for this (too) small repair work. Floor installation was bad, he blamed the material. To make the surface even, he sanded the floor resulting different appearance with the surrounding original floor, looked ugly. When he left, he had not finished the work on the kitchen cabinets. What was totally unacceptable was, he sent a text message in early Nov 2020 for finishing the work the next week after. He never came back for 4 months until a texted him. No response, no explanation, no sorry or anything. I sent another email to tell him that our work relation had ended."

You can install new tile over an existing backsplash, but pros recommend taking the old material down first. Layering tile creates a gap where moisture can collect and makes it harder for the new adhesive to bond. This method provides a strong, durable bond and is ideal for glass and stone installations when surfaces are properly cleaned and prepared. Adhering tiles with the proper adhesive ensures a robust and long-lasting finish.
Measuring your backsplash area is essential to determine the exact amount of tile needed. Begin by measuring the height and width of the backsplash in feet, then multiply these dimensions to calculate the total square footage. Do not adjust for small outlets or minor cutouts; only subtract the space occupied by large windows or significant obstructions. Finally, add 10% extra to account for waste, ensuring you order the precise quantity required.
