"Once again, we had an excellent experience with Custom Exteriors. 11 years ago, we purchased Milgard windows for the whole house from Custom Exteriors which included a lifetime warranty. Overall, we've been happy with the windows. But recently one of the window's metal crank mechanisms broke. First, we called Milgard, but they were giving us the run around. We next called Custom Exteriors and talked with Chris the Service Coordinator. We explained the situation and how Milgard wasn't being helpful. Despite Custom Exteriors not working with Milgard windows anymore, Chris still agreed to send out a couple of service guys to fix the window. We told Chris that we would be happy to pay for one additional window crank to be replaced since it's the same age as the one that broke. Chris said that Custom Exteriors would replace that crank for free as well even though it wasn't broken. It's been a few days since both windows' cranks were replaced, and everything is working great. Thank you, Chris, and Custom Exteriors!"

"Dublin Glass was the sub-contractor used by our contractor in our remodel project. Mike the owner came out to take measurements first. He was very nice and professional and answered all of our questions. When the shower door was ready for installation, two courteous young men came out to do the job. The installation went smoothly and it looks great. We opted for the Starphire Glass with the Diamon Fusion coating. We haven't used it yet so we can't comment on how well the coating works. Based on how easy it went, we would use them again."

"Green Planet Remodeling has been awesome from my first contact through work currently in process. I originally hired them to renovate my master bedroom and bathroom which included removing a fireplace and carving out a new space for a stackable laundry. Included new electrical, new plumbing, all new cabinets and fixtures. So pleased with the work that I engaged them for phase 2 which was the guest room and bath. Again, a beautiful job on installation, electrical, plumbing and fixtures. We’re now in phase 3 which is the kitchen, living room and a studio space on my roof top, which was formerly a laundry and utility space. Jonathan, the contractor, has clearly done a lot of high end work and is informed on the latest design trends and materials. His recommendations have always been helpful - he has steered me away from some things I had been considering that may have become dated and steered me to other options that are more current and timeless. "We spoke with many contractors for estimates before beginning our remodel. Daniel was the most professional and friendly and seemed to understand our needs. He came out to our house several times over the course of a few weeks in order to go through all the details of our remodel and make suggestions for dealing with a few tough situations before any paperwork was even signed. <br /> He rewrote our contract at least a half dozen times as we worked out the details, adding a few things to the list, removing others. He also had no problems at all when we decided that we wanted to do the finishing work (carpentry, painting, tiling) ourselves and even offered to build that time window into his work schedule (for instance, after he finished building out the new laundry room, we told him it would take us two weeks to tile, paint it, and finish the trim work, after which he would come back to finish installing the machines). <br /> Once work started, he was fast, efficient, and detail-oriented. His workers were here on time every morning and worked through the day. Daniel was available by phone or text message at all times in case any problems arose and the few times we had issues with the work being done he immediately handled the problem without us having to ask twice (for instance, we were unhappy with the finished texture of the drywall in one room. It was fixed by the next day. <br /> Overall the work was done over a month ahead of schedule and we paid exactly what was estimated on our initial contract. The work was top notch, and we couldn't be happier with it. No hidden fees, no problems that suddenly arose, nothing to worry about at all, really. Highly recommended. <br />"

"We were very pleased with the results of the installation.  The quality of work was excellent (inspector even mentioned so).  The project took about 5 work days as had been expected.  There were two individuals who did the work and were very knowledgable about the project and what needed to be done.  They had some problems with the building structure but knew what to do to resolve the issues.  The windows look great. <br> <br>Our HOA required the windows be installed as new construction.  This required new trim boards around the window.  My contract with Aames did not include painting.  I had to add the painting to the contract.  It cost $3000 for 10 hours work.  This seemed exorbitant to me but the HOA requirement left me no alternative.  The original price just for the window installation was reasonable although it was the second low bid (took this bid because I wanted Anlin windows).  This is the reasoning for my B evaluation in the price category. <br> <br>The owner/manager of the contract was only on site infrequently.  I had communication problems with the on site installation crew that caused some concerns.  The owner was not on site for the initial inspection and getting the information to him caused some misinterpretations of what was expected (painting be one of the issues).  Although the final inspection went without any problems due to the excellent work of the crew, again the owner was not on site.  However, he was always available by phone usually within 15 minutes after a call to him.  Basically,,this is the reasoning for the B rating under responsiveness. <br> <br>All in all, I would not hesitate to use Aames windows again for this type service.  I would be cautious of the specifics in the contract as well as having a complete understanding with the company in what we expected of them.  The quality of work was so good that it offset any of the issues involved. <br> <br> <br>"
