Sergio stated that he was certified, insured, and had over 20 years of experience, and that he worked with Home Depot. We communicated primarily by text regarding scope, timing, and price. I clearly requested that the replacement door be the same as the original, which was a fire-rated door. After inspecting the door, he quoted $1,700, which we negotiated to $1,500 without painting and partially cash payment. I repeatedly requested a written estimate, invoice, and receipt, but he said his software was not working and promised to provide them later.
