Keep in mind I had informed him that the job was usually done by me, annually, in January, but this year I had gotten lazy and decided to let a "Pro" handle it. What a perfect opportunity for an unscrupulous business person to agree, "Yes you definitely need my services, and in fact, I'm surprised your house hasn't burned down yet!" Not this gent. Instead, he and his assistant did a most thorough testing and inspection along with recommendations for my future guidance. His prognosis: "Your dryer and vents are fine; you don't need my to do anything, I would only be taking your money for nothing: Call me back in a year. NO charge for today!" Guess what I'll be doing a year from now...... along with touting him to neighbors, friends and relatives . We need more business people like Harold. If you don't employee My Dryer Vent Guy, you are in serious need of professional help!"

He not only cleaned and inspected the gas insert but rearranged the "logs" that had previously not been installed quite correctly by someone else a few years ago. He then inspected the dryer vent and replaced the old connector that had holes with a more substantial product that will hold up much better. He showed and explained what he had done and the cost was what was originally quoted. He also subsequently emailed an inspection report with photos that detailed the work that was done. We are very happy to recommend Saratoga Chimney Sweep."
