"My roof had sustained damage from recent severe storms in my area. I contacted several roofing companies, through internet searches and some local advertisers. I received a few inspections and multiple estimates, but wasn't satisfied or felt comfortable enough with any of those contractors to hire them do the job. So, I started asking around for referrals from friends and neighbors. My coworker recommended Braswell construction, since she's used their services before and were very pleased. I called right away, spoke to owner Chris Braswell, we setup an appointment and he came out the next day. He assessed the roof, and we both agreed that my entire roof needed immediate replacement. Chris was very professional, he explained all the details clearly for me to understand. Two days later his team were out replacing my roof. They did an excellent job, completed the roof and cleaned up the debris all in the same day. I am totally loving my new roof! it looks amazing, and I'm glad I went with the color shingles Chris suggested based off his experience...since I couldn't make up my mind picking a color. I am very glad I chose Braswell and would definitely recommend them in the future. The service was superb! Carolee"

"Several years ago I used T&J Exteriors to replace 3 or 4 windows on a recently purchased home, so I contacted them again when I decided to replace the rest. My first experience was great; the owner met with me to determine what I needed and to answer questions. After the installation, he called to make sure I was happy with the product and service. My second experience was different; I had to leave a few messages before I heard back from the owner. He told me that he subcontracted out all his window jobs, saying someone would be out to measure. The man who did the measuring and the man who actually installed my windows were professional and competent, and I love the quality the windows. After the job was completed I did not contacted by the anyone to see if I was satisfied, but about a week later I got a call asking for payment. Maybe I am just old school but I believe spending more than $5,000 with a company entitles me to at least a "thank you for your business"."

"I hate to provide a negative review for any company.  I feel obligated though since I use other reviews to determine if I?d use a company?s services, I want those individuals to provide honest and accurate reviews.  I feel obliged to do the same.

I reached out to Horizon Roofing in late October.  I had an appointment set-up with a salesman to come out and take a look at my roof.  When he arrived it was determined that indeed my roof had extensive damage.  He was very nice and I really liked him.  Very nice, good ol? boy, casual conversation.  Answered my questions, great!

I reached out to my insurance company, new roof approved? no problem.

I received the check from the insurance company along with details on the claim.  I was delayed in getting this information over to the salesman. When I did, he indicated that I would just need me to sign the contract and pick out a shingle color. Great!

I had two appointments set-up with him to get things in order to schedule the install.

One was on a Friday. I had the day off, told him to come by anytime.  I?d be there all day.  I did not hear from him at all.  I e-mailed him Monday to inquire what had happened.  He had a family emergency come up.  Not a problem, things happen. Scheduled another appointment.  When he was 20 minutes late for the second appointment, I called him.  He indicated

that he had septic issues at his home.  I can?t lie, at this point I was bothered. I think in sales, when you set up an appointment, you have to be vigilant of the time, at all times since you make appointments regularly.

In an effort to get the ball rolling, I asked him to scan and E-mail me a copy of the contract on Tuesday.  I followed up Thursday since I had not received a contract.  He seemed annoyed that his office had not sent the contract. I received the contract Thursday afternoon.  At this point, I was reluctant to pursue doing business with Horizon Roofing.

When I received the contract on Thursday, the date on the contract, was that same day.  That told me that was the first time it was sent to me, not Tuesday like I was told.

I thoroughly review the contract.  I was expected to sign a contract that referenced stipulations on the back of the contract, but only received one page.  The contract indicated I had damage to my driveway, I did not.  The shingle color that I was to choose? I was sent a slew of literature without knowing what type of shingle I was to refer to in order to choose the color.

My last effort was calling Horizon Roofing to speak with the sales manager.  The receptionist answered the phone on speaker.  I was not inclined to tell her what was going on because I didn?t want to express my dissatisfaction on speaker if there was someone else within ear shot.

I called the sales manager to see if there was possibly another salesman could handle my roofing project and claim.  I thought maybe the salesman I was assigned had too much going on to adequately handle my project.  I received no call back.

I have since reached out to another roofing company and received SUPERIOR customer service.  My roof install is scheduled for mid-December and I am looking forward to it.

"They are actually a national firm.  I spent between $8000 and $10000.  They did the complete tear down and reshingle in one day.  They had 10 guys working here.  They worked hard.  They did it quickly.  There wasn't any inconvenience at all.  They got up there and did the work.  I don't know anybody else who does it in one day with the size of the roof that we have.  We've got a 4000 sqft house.  I was happy."

Ground Zero did a top-notch job from start to finish! It is rare these days to be inspired to write a positive review, so let me dive in with the details:
1. Sales - I visited their showroom in South OKC. Alicia was very friendly and knowledgeable about the shelters. I'm an engineer by trade and had many geeky engineering questions; Alicia was able to answer every question I had about the construction and design. She walked me through how the entire process is handled, and even described OKC's building permit process.  Was so impressed that I made the purchase on-the-spot.  The price I indicated ($2300) was a sales price for the "smaller" shelter, so your price may vary.
2. Permits/Pre-Install:  Ground Zero provided pre-filled forms for the building permit. If you live in OKC you can go online and apply, then fax the forms. They (the City) will call you back for your CC number and give you the permit number (which you provide back to Ground Zero.   Ground Zero people followed up with me four days before install to ensure that everything was on-track.
3.  Installation:  Here is where Ground Zero hit it out of the park. I have to admit I was nervous about the install, as I've had more than a few installations that were total nightmares. My installers - Raul (Installer) and Xavier (Helper) were on time, ready to start immediately, and were very polite and professional.  Since I had a Pre-Tensioned Slab we had to call Suncoast to cut /re-anchor the cables latticed underneath the slab, this caused Raul and Xavier some minor delay and re-marking, but both of them worked seamlessly with Suncoast with the modifications and everything quickly was back on track.  Raul quickly had the slab cut and dirt removed within 1.5 hours, he was able to finesse the mini-excavator like a pro, probably could use it to pick up toothpicks if he wanted. Xavier was constantly moving and took care of the 1000 other smaller tasks, Raul and Xavier worked together like clockwork and rarely needed to talk.   When they were done they cleaned EVERYTHING, not a spot of mud anywhere inside or on the driveway, Raul used the pressure washer for a good 30 minutes just on the driveway.  While Raul hauled the dirt away, Xavier finished the troweling on the cement backfill leaving it with a nice raised feathering that looks very professional.   NEVER in four hours on site did I see either gentleman take a break to loaf, they were constantly moving and working non-stop.
I'm very pleased with the professionalism of the Ground Zero Team from Start to Finish, and pleased with the final product.   No, I'm not a "shill" nor do I work for Ground Zero. I am just one consumer that is tired of writing bad reviews for bad service, and pleased for once to be able to write an outstanding Review!

"The chimney repair was work performed on my home. It was done professionally and with great care. Additionally, Global has for years donated and installed roof shingles for our builds within Pickens County. Every roofing job was coordinated with our construction supervisor so that there was no disruption of ongoing work. The donated shingles are of good quality and the colors always compliment the home being build. We have had no complaints with regard to Global their installation and clean up. I highly recommend Global."

"Searching for a roofer who you can trust is a bit daunting, eventually after reading reviews on multiple sites, I picked 3 roofer with A ratings from Angie's List. Mr. Robertson's said they would call back and never did. Total Roof Solutions came out, gave us a great pitch with examples of everything they do, said they would send me a quote in a day or two and never received a quote from them.
Guardian came out and did same walk through, however same day, the owner came out to look at roof and gave me the quote day of. They showed up and put the roof on in two days. Looks great, absolutely NO issues with anyone from the company they came back and made sure I was happy with results before I paid.
Totally friendly and professional no pressure company. If I have any other roof needs in future they will have all my business. They have done about 6 homes in my neighborhood, checked with my neighbors experience, everyone very happy with their results.
This is an A++ company, owner Garrett very involved. HIGHLY recommend using this company.

"We had our gutters removed and replaced and installed leaf guards. Donnie was very professional when he came out for an estimate. He explained the whole process and discussed his crew that would be on the job. The very polite, hard-working guys showed up on time and never stopped until the job was completed! Long, hot day for them and they were still smiling and thanking me as they left. The gutters look great and we are very pleased with the overall experience! I have already referred them to others, and will continue to do so."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Scotland, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
