"I have been looking for a competent affordable company to install a mini split system in my home. Got 4 estimates and went with this company. It turned out to be a seamless experience the price was the lowest but that didn’t effect the quality of the installation or the installers that did the work which by the way we’re experienced. professionals and personable. I am very pleased with the install and would recommend this company highly. If your looking for a mini split system this company is a one stop shopping choice."

"My friend is in the hospital recovering from major surgery. His wife is at home taking care of 3 adolescent boys from foster care. The home gets hit with a bed bug infestation and they need to relocate to an old mobile home while their house is being fumigated. I called ProTech on Friday afternoon and explained I needed to help my friend as there was an electrical issue at the trailer that needed to be fixed so the family could stay there. Less than 24 hours later their technician was at the trailer and fixed all the problems. Communication was great and constant, price was very fair and they did all this from one phone call. They didn't know me. They accepted payment over the phone by credit card and followed up to make sure everything was good. I could not speak more highly of my satisfaction with this company. Thank you Pro-Tech for relieving stress from my friend's family during this time of crisis."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Scranton, PA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
