"I recently had a solar installation done at my home by Pinnacle Roofing, and I must say, their service was top-notch. What impressed me most was their ability to stick to the schedule despite some unexpected changes from the city. Their team demonstrated remarkable professionalism, kindness, and courtesy throughout the process. They also ensured I had all the necessary information to make an informed decision about the installation. Highly recommend Pinnacle Roofing for their excellent service and commitment to customer satisfaction. Bill"

"I don't usually write reviews, but definitely want to write one for Tekline Roofing. My brother in law recommended Tekline and we are very pleased we had their group do the work. Their customer service was excellent and they responded very quickly with questions. Norm was great at explaining the roofing process, how to get prepared, etc. The cost was very reasonable for the work that was done. Our home is old and has a somewhat complex roof and they definitely didn't cut any corners. We felt confident the work was being done well. The work took longer than expected, partly because they discovered there wasn't plywood on parts of our roof, something they couldn't determine until the old shingles were removed. Tha was excellent and came by our home a few days before the work started to discuss how they would protect our garden-landscaping. They daily placed tarps and plywood to protect damaging things outside and they cleaned up every day after 11-12 hours of hard work. Misael oversaw the daily work and took photos and the team shared updates and photos on a regular basis. At the end of the project, my garden looks great! The roof was just completed this week and they will be back to replace one of the skylights in our attic that was on backorder."

"I hired Larry Haight's Residential Roofing to replace my torch down tongue and groove flat roof with IB. After the Bomb Cyclone November storm, I hired them again to repair my IB flat roof. I worked with Randy & Heidi May on these projects as well as a different estimator and project manager for the repair. They did a quality job. I would hire Larry Haight Roofing again."

"Anderson Roofing just completed the second of two houses for which I've engaged their services. Both times their crew was prompt and highly skilled, as well as immaculate in their post-job cleanup. During this second project, owner Greg graciously and diligently helped me navigate the product requirements of our homeowners' association, and the resulting roof tones blend in perfectly with houses around us. Needless to say, I highly and unconditionally recommend Anderson Roofing! -- Maylan Schurch"

"Elite Roofing replaced our roof in January. They left quite the mess; nails and shingle pieces . They broke two fancy porch posts cap. They said they would replace or credit. They did neither. Only $20.00, but I wish they had honored their promise. Lastly and most important was that had to replace some plywood on the roof deck. They charged us for 18 sheets. The actual roof is 464 sq ft. so actually 15 sheets. Calling them did no good what so ever. They insisted their numbers were correct even though I am standing here with my tape measure. No offer to have someone stop by to double check. Nothing. If you use them, I hope that you have better service then I did."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Seattle, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
