"My recent experience with Hamby Roof Repair exceeded my expectations in all respects. I engaged Vann Hamby to inspect my roof for leaks around my masonry chimney, as well as damage to the roof caused by a broken tree limb. (I should point out that the leaks around the chimney chase were significant enough to require careful, long-term placement of pans and buckets to catch rainfall in the attic to prevent further water damage to the ceilings in my home.) After my initial phone call with Vann, he promptly arrived the next day to inspect the roof, recommend the necessary repairs and provide a temporary patch to the aforementioned hole until he could return to perform all repairs. I was immediately impressed by his deep experience (25+ years), professionalism, apparent pride in his work and the reasonable repair estimate. Although the repair to the roof hole was relatively straightforward, the leaks surrounding the chimney chase were more complicated, thus requiring extensive demolition of poorly installed flashing / shingles from the replacement roof that had been installed several years earlier by a different contractor. Next, Vann installed step flashing, kick out pans and counter-flashing, in addition to well-matched replacement shingles. At each stage of the repair, Vann voluntarily sent pics to my I-phone so that I could “inspect” the work as it was performed. The quality of his work was outstanding and precise. The day after Vann’s repairs, we experienced several days of heavy rain in the area. I monitored the attic to determine whether any leaks had occurred. Much to my satisfaction, the previously mentioned pans and buckets were dry and I only found one small area where water seeped onto a small, contained area in the attic (fortunately there was no ponding of water anywhere.) Following the first night of heavy rain, Vann contacted me by phone the very next morning to inquire whether any moisture had penetrated the attic. I explained my findings and he informed me that he would return to my home to resolve the minor, lingering moisture issue. As soon as the weather permitted, Vann returned to my home to touch up a few small areas where the caulk had not properly set or cured around the chimney flashing. It’s refreshing to find a trustworthy, skilled, and conscientious contractor. I appreciate Vann’s honesty and integrity, and highly recommend him to anyone in need of roof repairs."

"Mr. Brian Harris from Arrow Exterminators in Enterprise, AL came on time for my appointment. I wanted to change my termite and pest control from TERMINIX to Arrow. He explained the process and helped me complete the contracts for termite and pest control. He was very good at explaining what Arrow will do to keep my home and property pest free! "Southern Specialty Contractor LLC, gave me an estimate on my property to install a roof and I agreed to move forward after all parties agreed to a price. I informed the representative Manny that we were on a strict budget and could only afford what we were quoted. He did a complete assessment of the roof and said he thought we would be fine with the price quoted and did not anticipate any additional problems based on his knowledge and expertise. My husband and I decided to move forward because he seemed to be an honest person. We paid half of the invoice and the other half was due at completion. We never got a phone call, text or email stating that they found any additional problems. Unfortunately, when the job was completed they sent an invoice with an additional $1995. I called and told them they made a mistake on the invoice and I was told that they found some additional issues and addressed them without my permission. I have never in my life heard of a company making additional repairs to a property without discussing it with the homeowner. I believe this is a scam. They submitted a lower bid to get the job and inflated it after the work was completed. This man had the nerve to file suit against me for repairs that I didn't approve. I have a feeling that this is how they do business. That is very unprofessional to inflate a price without discussing it with the customer. I will definitely see him in court. Please shop around before you do business with this company. I REFUSE to allow him to scam me. I wish I could give zero stars. He was paid in Full for the services provided."

"I had a brand new heat pump system installed in April 2023. They sent subcontractors to install it who were very unprofessional and they left bare wires hanging out of the machine and it did not look like it was installed correctly. It stopped working completely 4 times in 5 months, the last time was on October 10, service tech said, “I really don’t agree with the way they installed it “ he said the wires were barely connected so it kept losing power. He got it working again and left. Two weeks ago it got cold and we turned the system to heat for the very first time. It blew cold air. We made ANOTHER service call. The technician said that a switch had “gone bad” because, “they wear out” we explained that we have never used the heat even once, so how could the switch be worn out. Then they advised they had to order a part. Over a week later the part came in and they returned and that still didn’t fix. Now they say the compressor has, “gone bad” and when we reiterated that we have never even used it so how is it worn out they answered, “they just go bad sometimes” we still don’t have heat, they say they have to order more parts. We asked them to look over the whole system because we don’t think it is installed right and I am genuinely concerned that it is a fire hazard and they looked at it, put electrical tape on some hanging wires and left. We have had to take SIX days off work so far and buy space heaters and we are no closer to having a working system. This unit is less then SIX MONTHS OLD. At this point I have no choice but to pursue legal action. This whole experience has been terrible and has cost me hundreds in missed time at work and I’m still paying for a system that does not work."
