Mike Melchor of Mike’s Complete Landscaping was our last experience, and he exceeded our expections. He installed a first-class irrigation system, landscape lighting, designed a rock garden with footpath, reconditioned an unused raised vegetable garden, enhanced front and back yard flower beds which were in sore need of attention, pressure washed everything on our property and is currently in the process of extending our poolside deck’s useful life so that we do not yet have to bear the expense of a new deck at this time. "Great. We had a consultation and described our vision for what we wanted (more color, something to make the back yard look less empty). We also had a few specific little problems like straightening our juniper that got knocked askew during Harvey. Alvin provided us with a detailed estimate. It did not have pictures but for me it was descriptive enough so that pictures were not needed. When we approved the estimate, Universal came in soon thereafter and completed the work in two days (including throwing in the little extras like our juniper situation). They also had someone check and adjust our sprinklers to make sure the new plants will get the water they need. The landscaping looks so good. We previously had a few rocks around our front flower beds; they brought in a lot more to line and raise the beds (which makes them look so much nicer), and added mulch as well as new plants. They also used our existing plants that still had life to them (they got rid of the dying ones per our request) and transplanted some of them to other areas in the yard. They installed a new flower bed behind the pool. Per our request, they planted some plants along the fence line to dress it up a little without obstructing the view behind our fence. They chose dwarf crepe myrtles, which I am excited about as a crepe myrtle fan. I can't stop wandering around my yard admiring everything. Of course, some of the plants (like the new dwarf crepe myrtles) are new and small, and will grow out over time, so I know it will look even better in the future. We are very happy, 100% satisfied."

"I have engaged Backyard's Plus regularly since they did my landscaping a few years ago. I have been pleased with the initial landscaping project 5-6 years ago, as well as the weekly yard service that they perform. The owner, Joey Rodriguez, came out to work up the initial landscaping design and to manage the installation. I had a few landscapers come to the house to submit their designs, but Joey was the only one who understood what I was looking for and prepared a plan to satisfy my expectations. "Cesar and Carlos are the BEST! I have used their services multiple times. Installation of drainage system in back yard, flowerbed reconstruction, paver blocks installed for 4 beds in back including fresh dirt and plants. They also created a paver patio and did same for my front porch. I recently called then to correct blunders left by a tree service that destroyed my yard. They cleaned up the mess, created block borders fir 3 more beds, trinmed my large oak tree in front, and placed sand in holes left in yard by other group. They are timely, communicative, do great work, and leave not a trace behind. I would recommend them for ANY outside yard service you need! A+ company!!"

"Randy is a perfectionist. His work on my landscaping project was first class. He went way beyond my expectations. He provided great ideas for the landscaping. He took a lot of time to help me choose the best plants and shrubs. He is very knowledgeable about plants in general and also knows what is available locally. Randy and his guys were punctual and worked long and hard on the installation. Randy worked alongside his guys and, after his men had finished their part, he did a lot of work on his own to finish things off. He is very much hands-on, which I like. He took significant time discussing with me the exact placement of every single plant and shrub. At the very end, he even dug up and replanted one shrub because he wanted its prettiest side to face in a different direction, so we could get more enjoyment from it. That is how detailed he gets, that he does not just put a plant in the ground but also insists on placing it in the best orientation. His attention to detail was noticeable at every step. He is not content with just doing an acceptable job. He wants it to be as good as he can possibly make it. He spent far more hours on my project than I was expecting for the price. As well as doing the new landscaping, he weeded, tidied up, pruned and adjusted other beds, and also trimmed a palm tree, all to a very high standard. At the end, every scrap of debris was removed. My front yard has never looked so good. I plan to have Randy back for regular maintenance and would without hesitation use him on future landscaping projects. I am quite hard to please, but this was, in my opinion, an exceptional example of professionalism."
