"Bruce came in on pool house project that was started with very poor quality. Bruce had to redo many aspects of the house that the first contractor did. He fixed all of the previous errors and finished the project! It looks amazing!!!"

"Our first project for Bob was a very old claw foot cast iron bathtub. He did a great job, the tub is now a beautiful master piece in our guest bathroom, shiny, brilliant white. Bob also renewed the surface of our tiled shower floor sand after two years of daily use shows no signs of wear shiny and new looking. Recently I remodeled our kitchen and Bob completely restored a tile floor with NewLife surface technology. He took all the necessary precautions and prep work sealing off the new cabinets doorways and living area before beginning. Bob is very conscientious and does a professional job. The floor is perfect from grout lines to final seal. He definitely gave our floor new life."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Shelby, IA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
