"I had a great experience working with Premier Construction Services on my roof replacement project. The owner Mike Guzman was involved in every step. He prepared the estimate, helped me choose the right materials and was up on the roof with his team during the installation. When you speak to him it is clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work and that shows in the finished product. The project was completed promptly without any unexpected issues and the roof looks great. The price was about $2,000 less than what I was quoted by a couple of other roofing companies so I am very pleased. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Premier Construction Services again on future projects."

"I have a flat roof, so it had to be a torch-down, and I just couldn't get an ordinary roofer. So, I knew it would entail a lot. They were out here and gave me a bid, and they could do what I wanted, and for the lowest price. They came out and did three-fourths of it, and then they put all the edging around the outside of the roof. I had a problem about six months later, and it would howl when the wind blew. I called them and they were out the same day, and they knew what to do. They were just on their game. I thought that they would charge a lot of money because they had a full-page advertisement in the phone book, but they were the lowest."

"When we had our chimney/ flue removed due to dry rot, a poor job was done repairing the nearby roof. The Roof Doctor did quality work repairing the roof with a great aesthetic result. After a young painting contractor nailed a cleat through our 50 year roof, we again called on the Roof Doctor to repair the damage, and again an excellent repair resulted. <br />"

"We bought a new home with a metal roof and was told they last forever. What we weren't told, is that they last forever when installed correctly. It was devastating to find out our roof needed to be replaced. We called around for different bids, but once we found out the cost to replace the metal, we wanted to be sure this was done by a company that eats , breathes, and sleeps metal roofs. Most of the companies we spoke with only did a few metal roofs a year. I finally found Metal Roof Specialities and knew after my first conversation with Hailey that this was the company we wanted to work with. She answered all of my questions, was so comforting, understood my frustrations and concerns. She introduced me to Wayne who came out and looked at our existing roof. One thing I appreciated so much, was they really wanted to see what they could do to fix our existing roof. Once Wayne saw it, and explained all that it would take to fix the existing, we all agreed it would be best to replace with a new one. Wayne got back to us with a bid and was very thorough in explaining it and the process. We went in to the office to pick our color and met Jerry the owner. They were all so great in the office. Really made this process a positive one. We ended up choosing the Old Zinc Gray. Wayne was out with his crew to install. Justin and Tony were great. They all worked so hard. Rain, hail, sunshine, they dealt with our typical Spring weather. They kept the site extremely clean. Kept in contact with me about what was going on. From start to finish, we could not be more happy with metal roof specialities and Wayne's company, preferred metal solutions. I highly recommend them for metal roofing needs."

"I had many options and colors to pick from for my new roof and one that fit my budget. The crew arrived early and got busy, the job was done very professionally. All of the debris was placed in a bin and removed at the end of the job. The cleanup was if they had not been here. The price was very fair, I got several estimates and their bid was not the lowest or the highest. I am very pleased with the outcome and have a 30-year warranty that is transferable should I at some point decide to sell my home. I have had no problems with the new roof of any kind but know if I did I could count on Chet's Roofing to be there for me. Great Company and great customer service."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Shelton, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
