"Our wonderful remodeling job was done by Best builders group & their awesome team. After shopping around for more than few months for a good home improvement company, we got to Best builders group. The project manager was easygoing, skilled, honest and perfectionist!! For sure there was no pressure of any kind which caused us to feel very comfortable with him. We decided to remodel our kitchen & the backyard. The work included the installation of artificial turf, plants/flowers while the kitchen was completely updated. They installed new cabinets (upper and lower), countertops, backsplash tiles, lights, paint and more... the new kitchen absolutely looks gorgeous and the house is like a new one. All of our friends and family always amazed when they come to visit. They took extra care of everything and the crew and staff was very nice and polite all the time. We definitely recommend Best builders group to everyone!"

"We just finished having Armscraft Construction do work at our home. I?m very happy with the job they did. To begin, we had a fireplace that was bricked up many years ago?probably due to an earthquake concern. My wife wanted to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace?as did I?and so the Armscraft crew opened up the fireplace and made it operational and safe.

We also had a lot of work done in our family room. We had a wall removed and in its place we had a few windows installed. Now we can better enjoy our backyard and we have much better access to it thanks to a sliding door that was installed.

We also had some plumbing work done. We had all new pipes installed?I think they?re called PEX pipes if I remember correctly. We had old copper pipes as typical old homes do. The pile of old copper piping was temporarily placed in our side yard [we had it recycled of course] and let me tell ya? there was a whole lot of pipe laying there.

Our bathroom was redone as well?new tiling as well as a new shower stall, fittings, bathroom mirrors, and new sinks & toilets throughout the home. There was also some tile installed on the wall in the bathroom and I?m very
happy with the job that was performed.

Some work was also done in the garage attached to the house. A new sink out there, a work area for me and my son to work at, a sink installed a better drainage system and also better lighting.

And finally [I don?t think I?m forgetting anything but I probably have!] we had a tankless water heater installed as well as some new kitchen appliances?dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave? etc.

I?m ecstatic with the work that was done on our home. The workers were very nice to deal with. They were respectful and friendly and they seemed to enjoy their job which is always nice.

I?m so relieved everything went well as we were nervous as to what construction business to go with. Angie?s List definitely did the job with their recommendation of Armscraft Construction and I?m so thankful we did our research first."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Sierra Madre, CA

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
