"Working with Ricky was great because not only did he know his trade, he was super friendly and professional, which is great when working with someone closely on a project which can be a big investment, and having a trusting relationship is important. The water feature work he did was incredible. The small details to complete a water feature make the biggest difference in making something look and feel incredibly natural. Very happy with Ricky and his work."

"Perfect experience from start to finish. The advice, selection and installation was flawless. Price of the stone was some what higher due to acquisition and shipping cost in Denver. The marble required was very specific and not readily available. Otherwise, I highly recommend Planet Granite and would use them again if need be."

"Dave and his team were awesome! They were very knowledgeable about many things including natural boulder placement, grading and irrigation. I also appreciated their sensitivity to the existing landscape and how clean they kept the worksite. All three on the crew were sweet to our dog and our son and felt like part of the family by the time the job was complete. We are incredibly happy with their work and we plan on hiring Rothgery & Sons next summer for another project. Highly recommend!"

"This biggest part of the effort was getting the significant amount of dirt and rocks to the back of the house. They had the correct equipment to do this job. Did the work quickly, and cleaned up afterwards. Easy to work with team of folks and very considerate."

"We got a number of estimates with a wide range of prices and some could not provide service for 3 weeks. Mountain High was able to provide and good estimate and could cut in 2 days. They arrived on time and were finished and completely cleaned up in just over 2 hours. They were polite and worked hard. In summary, the entire experience with Mountain High was EXCELLENT."

"Jared and Chris came out as agreed, on time, and began by digging into the bank and creating a level foundation for our wall.  Then they dug a drainage canal, filled it with screening material used for french drains, put in a drain over the bluff, and filled with small rocks to be used for the drainage, and bringing the floor back to level.  They then began the rock wall by laying a layer of block, filling with more rocks, leveling, adding a mesh support engineered to add substantial stability to the wall.  They did this up to the top (about 7 feet high and 30 feet wide) and placed the cap stones.  With each layer of the mesh and block, they used a compactor to hold the mesh in place and add more stability to the wall.  <br /> I can't imagine having anyone doing a better job.  This is the type of system that many road and bridge departments use for retaining walls on the sides of roads and highways.  I am sure that this wall will be here long after we and the next generation or two have gone.  <br /> We appreciate their work and would recommend them without reservation to anyone needing retaining wall work. <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Silverthorne, CO

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
