"Everything about Able Electrical Services service was superb! I was in a jam, and Able Electrical Services came to the rescue. Both of the mechanics that assisted were excellent. Russell Ridgway was the primary mechanic and he was amazing! His work is superior and he exceeded my expectations every step of the way. For example, I needed electrical outlets to connect install a wet bar. He measured the wet bar and installed the outlets exactly where they were needed and ensured sufficient power was added to accommodate a kegerator and mini-frigs. I highly recommend Able Electrical Services and hope I never need to use any other electrician."

"I want to express my appreciation for the excellent job that Tom did yesterday, upgrading lighting to my kitchen by removing a fluorescent ceiling fixture, and installing recessed LED lights. He was very professional, worked quickly, and he cleaned up the area, prior to departing. He answered my questions, and wanted to be sure that I was happy with the work. Additionally, I felt that the fee was very reasonable. I am very pleased with the outcome, and I would wholeheartedly recommend All In Electric to others."

"Chesapeake electrical just finished replacing an outlet on our 32 year old home. They also inspected the whole electrical system and offered options to upgrade our house to current standards. The technician, Brian, was very experienced and fixed our problem right away. Too many Christmas lights, too much recent rain and trying to charge an electric car on a 110 line! They came out the day after we called, the scheduler, Jackie, was very personable and determined to get this ordeal over for us. Our immediate problem was not too complicated but I can see down the road we may need more substantial electric repairs and we will be calling Chesapeake electrical for what we need. I recommend everything about their operation. Last comment and probably the most important comments moment, the cost was very reasonable. For someone who almost never uses an electrician, we are glad we found Chesapeake electrical. John and Jane, Ellicott City"

"This is the second time I have hired C. T. Smith to do installations in my condo. In mid-2017, I had around 15 recessed lights, two hanging lights, several smoke detectors (on a cathedral ceiling) installed. The price was low, craftmanship great. I thought-- something's wrong, it has got to be more expensive. I hired them again in May 2019, and they turned in another great performance. The job again involved installing more recessed lighting, plus putting up to bathroom fixtures. The installers were great, kept the place clean, and did precision work. The price was right too. Having done major remodels on homes before, I am kind of hard on tradesmen who screw up jobs, exhibit incompetence, don't care about their trade. If they are ripoff artists or incompetents, it makes my blood boil. So it has always been a relaxing experience with CT Smith. I would hire them again for future electrical jobs in an instant."

"We had just moved into a newly renovated house. One by one the recessed lights throughout the house were burning out. The electrician from Kolb took his time diagnosing the problem until he found the cause. He was very thorough and patient. In the end it was some loosely concocted wires. We were very happy with the time he spent to get it right.

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Simpsonville, MD

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
