"I got an estimate very quickly on the repair and a general assessment of the state of the roof. Mr B's was only one of two roofing contractors that I called that would even do a repair, and Mr B's was the more prompt and better estimate. While very busy, he was able to fit me in sooner than originally estimated, and did a great job. I'm very happy and will call them again when more work is needed."

"I cannot say enough great things about BenchMark Home Improvements! I needed my kitchen remodeled and decided to give them a call based on the excellent reviews I had read about them and those previous reviewers did not steer me wrong. Lee is very personable and he really took his time explaining the services he offers and helped me decide on a plan to make my kitchen work for me. I decided to have my cabinets refaced, turn a closet into a great looking pantry and go with a custom built in microwave in my lower cabinets to make room for the chimney vent hood I wanted above my stove. I feel the price was great for the work I had done and the customer service and level of professionalism is second to none! A special thanks to Pete as well! His personable nature, professionalism, careful workmanship and attention to detail are greatly appreciated....and the pups thank you for the treats! :)"

"I recently had David from McKeage Industries handle a roof repair for my vacation home in Maine, and I could not be happier with the results. From the moment I reached out, their team was professional, friendly, and incredibly responsive. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood what needed to be done before starting any work. The quality of their craftsmanship was outstanding, and they finished the job on time without cutting corners. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. Finding reliable contractors for a vacation home can be tough, but McKeage Industries made the entire process easy and stress free. I would highly recommend them to anyone in Maine looking for honest, dependable, and skilled roofing professionals."

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Somersworth, NH

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
