"Well, I knew it was time for a new roof. Based on its age and just looking at it, I knew it. I had put off this decision for quite a while now, but yes, now was the time to finally invest in a new roof. Would I rather spend the money on a Hawaiian vacation or perhaps a new Zero Turn Lawnmower yard toy? Maybe, but if I am thinking clearly and correctly, not really! I knew a great roof replacement would add great protection not only for the home, but for me and my loved ones. It provides peace of mind, dynamic curb appeal, and one less big worry. When looking for a new roof, I’m sure like a lot of you have or are doing, I checked around a bit and chatted with a couple of neighbors, family, and friends. I just wasn’t satisfied with the cousin’s son-in-law’s brother’s friend who can do it over a number of weekends mentality. I also wasn’t interested in some of their decision-making like those who would choose bargain basement, lowest cost options, or on the other hand that I felt had been way overcharged. I decided to conduct some online searches of my own. I found BHI online through one of those searches. I must say that I was quite impressed by what I initially read and saw about the company, their Awards & Accreditations, their Charity, and strong sense of Community, as well as their Go Green commitment. They also have an “Operation Payback” Awards program that provides a free new roof to an American Veteran every year. That was amazing, and along with their many exemplary reviews, I had to check them out further and made a call. Jim DelPrete, President came out to visit with me in short order and assessed my particular and specific roofing needs and presented all the relevant options and recommendations and some needed do’s and don’ts. After speaking with him, I was confident about their services and capabilities, the materials, and the process, steps and timeline for the job. I also felt that the project cost was very competitive, reasonable, and fair. From contract to materials delivery to house prep and to the completed roof and cleanup, the project went along quite smoothly. I am very pleased with my new roof. I really am and I would like to publicly thank Jim, Elias, Sean, Samantha, and the whole crew. "Very high pressure sales. They were more interested in getting it done quickly than the quality of the installation. The aluminum trim around the windows looks good but they did not replace all of the old wood underneath I requested. They would put it over anything. They did not bother to brush off the sills before covering them or remove saw dust. Many of them were cut too small because they assumed all trim was the same size. They had to redo most of them and they didn’t do the bottom corner’s correctly even though I explained to them how they should be done. When they didn’t want to do something they acted like they didn’t understand me."

"The B & R team was a pleasure to work with through the whole process, from quote to paying after the job was done. We had heard water dripping onto a ceiling on our second floor during a heavy storm, and called several roofers for quotes. Five different companies came out, two of which wanted to replace the whole roof, and three that said it should just be repaired. During that process, several of the companies mentioned that our chimney needed repointing as well, so we added that to the job. Robert Jr. came out for B & R on a Monday after I had spoken with them on a Friday, and I had detailed quotes in my email that night for the work. They were quick to respond to questions by email, text, and phone. Once I got them the signed contract, they were in touch within the week to get the work scheduled, and had their mason and roofing team on site two weeks after I had gotten them the contract. A day and a half later, I had a beautifully repointed chimney with a cap, rotted wood around the base of the chimney replaced, perfect flashing, and a roof that no longer leaks at all. The team kept me informed throughout the process, letting me know about any issues they encountered and keeping me posted on their timelines. After they were done, they cleaned up the site completely (and even cleaned up the leaves and sticks that were in the driveway from a recent storm). The final price came in just slightly over the original quote because they had to replace more wood than they were originally expecting around the base of the chimney - it took more materials and more time than what was covered under the original estimate, but only cost a little more than the quote. All in all a great process, and I'd highly recommend Robert Jr. and the team at B & R for any roofing or chimney related work that you need."

"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."
