"County's answering service was prompt and helpful in answering the phone after hours and taking a message. I did not request evening/weekend service as we could wait until morning, all I requested was a technician be scheduled in the morning. Soon after the message was left, I received a call from County's scheduler and we talked about what would be needed, and we would appreciate first call in the morning which she could not guarantee but said a tech would call when en route. I received the call promptly in the morning and the boiler specialist arrived soon after. Diagnosis and repair was swift other than waiting for some parts to arrive. I left to go to work, leaving him to do his work. After the main repair, testing the system resulted in finding one of the pumps was damaged as well. The tech noted that I had a spare used pump available and used it to fix the problem rather than obtaining and charging for a new one. I appreciated this as it not only expedited the repair but also saved parts and labor. The heating system has been working flawlessly since (about 1 week). The Tech was competent, prompt, clean, and courteous. What more can you ask for? <br />"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"Todd and his helper removed the old cast iron floor standing unit then installed the new 95%+ efficient wall mount unit in 8-9 hours. We went from .6 GMP (that’s right, little more than 1/2 gallon per minute) of domestic hot water to nearly 5gpm. The new NTI unit is nearly silent and was able to have our smart WiFi thermostat hooked up to it. The copper work Todd and his man (TNT plumbing) did was amazing on the installation, using special pumps on each zone instead of unreliable zone valves. His price for the install was, in my book right on for what we got. No shortcuts were taken and top of the line equipment was installed. After the unit was up and running, Todd spent the time to properly hook up my Honeywell WiFi thermostat, and to explain in detail the operation of our new boiler unit. I hired Todd by his reputation doing this kind of work and was not disappointed. Highly recommended and would definitely hire again."

"The only problem was communicating with Spectrum, specifically Ben Hicks, the owner and service provider. His phone number and email address were incorrect as listed by Angies. Nevertheless, we managed a phone call and set a service date. I found him to be a completely thorough, thoughtful and technically proficient professional. He kept me informed as to his findings and remediation, all of which were logical. Finally, his charge was quite reasonable (for four hours work). I most certainly will call him next fall for an inspection. He's earned my trust and confidence. I will recommend him to my friends. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in South-londonderry, VT

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
