"Sione and his crew showed up on time, and did an excellent job in less time than expected.  Every worker was very friendly, his estimate was accurate, and his crew was extremely hard working, polite and efficient.  I am very pleased to have selected Friendly Islander Landscaping to do the work.

"The 2 young men that did our lawn work and project were respectful, kind, nice, and did an outstanding, excellent job. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up and hauling away all the trimmings (which was a lot!). They worked hard for 6 hours. I would and will recommend A Cut Above Landscape to everyone I know. Thank you for the recommendation! Other companies never called us back or showed up when they said they would to do the work. This company excels in customer service and going above and beyond! Thank you! Lynda and Joe from Lower Burrell, Pa."

"Geoff came out and gave me an estimate, we agreed on the work to be done and picked a date and time. Geoff arrived prepared and went right to work. The house looks great, I would hire them again."

"All in one deal, he takes care of everything. They aerate the lawn, put the plugs down, and reseed the lawn and all. I have had to call them back a few times. I have had weeds, so I tell them you sprayed for weeds, and they come back, and take care of the issue, but they should have taken care of them the first time around."

FAQs for landscape soil, sand, mulch and rock delivery projects in Southwest, PA

Topsoil packs your garden with the nutrients plants crave, improves soil structure, and lets water drain at just the right pace. The result is a welcoming planting bed that makes routine chores—like weeding and aerating—far easier. In short, quality topsoil boosts fertility, builds stronger root systems, and keeps your landscape looking vibrant season after season.

If you’re tackling a large area and have room to store extra soil, bulk delivery almost always wins on price. Bags cost more per cubic yard but arrive clean, sealed, and easy to haul around tight spaces or raised beds. Match the option to your square footage, storage space, and muscle power, and you’ll find the most cost-effective and hassle-free choice for your project.

First, measure the square footage you want to cover, then decide on a layer—most gardens thrive with 4 to 8 inches of fresh topsoil. A 40-pound bag spreads over 12 square feet at a depth of one inch. Multiply your area by the desired depth (in inches), divide by 12, and you’ll know exactly how many bags to load in the cart. Using this quick formula guarantees even coverage and a healthy, vibrant garden bed.
