"It was very easy to work with Joe to finalize a quote and get the job scheduled. Once onsite, Carlos and his colleague knew exactly what to do and how to run the new electric circuit across the house from the electrical panel to the garage. The installed the EV charger we had purchased separately exactly how we wanted it. Everything worked perfectly. They even went the extra mile to come back and patch the garage drywall where they had made a few holes to run the cable even though it was not included in the job initially. Overall very happy with both the price we paid and the quality of the work. Will hire again for any electrical work we'll need."

"If you're looking for an honest reliable electrician look no further. After dealing with another less than honest contractor constantly giving excuses Fox Trail was a breath of fresh air. They handled our install on time and on budget, with no nonsense or excuses."

"Chris was able to straighten out a problem with a hallway outlet. He took time to explain the process. Chis is a very friendly, intelligent individual. I have no reason not to contact your company in the future should I have an additional electrical problem."

"We found Versatile Electric through our general contractor who was building our screened-in porch. Carlos and his brothers came on the job to do the lights, outlets, fan, and three 1800W infrared heaters -- a complex and multi-faceted job requiring close coordination with the other trades involved in the project. We also asked them to replace our house's main power panel to allow room for additional circuits (including a dedicated 240V circuit for our electric car charge point in the garage) *and* add an auxiliary panel with an external connection point so we could plug our 7KW generator into the house to power six circuits during major grid failures. Carlos did all this work flawlessly and trained me how to operate the generator in microgrid mode safely and effectively. Two thumbs up for Versatile Electric! We love our porch and also can rest a bit easier knowing we'll be safer and more comfortable during any prolonged power outage."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Stephens City, VA

Because installing coax outlets involves working around existing electrical wiring and confirming proper grounding, many homeowners prefer to hire a licensed electrician. A professional completes the work safely, secures the line behind the wall, and ensures the installation meets local code, which reduces the risk of damage or future repairs.

You still need a coaxial outlet for most cable-based internet services. The modem draws its signal from a cable line that terminates at a dedicated wall jack. Once the modem is online, your Wi-Fi router can broadcast the signal throughout the home, so the outlet’s location doesn’t affect wireless performance. If an existing jack is damaged or in an inconvenient spot, an electrician can move it or install a new one to maintain a strong, reliable connection.

Coaxial cable loses signal strength the farther it runs. A 50-foot length introduces noticeable loss, and a 100-foot stretch can drop the signal by roughly 30%. A weaker signal can result in a fuzzy picture or slower internet speeds. To maintain high performance, limit cable length whenever possible, select the correct cable grade, and route it efficiently. If your layout demands an exceptionally long run, an electrician can install an inline amplifier to boost the signal and maintain picture or data quality.
