"Outstanding!  Arrived as scheduled and worked continuously until job was done.  Pre-treated a number of areas due to pet stains.  Final results were excellent - carpeting and furniture cleaned like new. <br />"

"Our relationship with All Star Mechanical began with Chris coming out to diagnose my AC problem. He tested the system and diagnosed it as low on refrigerant likely due to a leak. We asked to get a quote on replacing the AC and the entire HVAC system. The furnace was a 25 year old Trane. The air filter was 1in thick and struggled to blow through a non-MERV filter, and I wanted cleaner air for the health of my family, especially since wildfires aren't going away anytime soon. We also wanted a whole house humidifier to assist the Vornado units we run 24/7 in the winter. Larry presented us with a variety of options for upgrading my HVAC system, not trying to sell me a system too large and expensive for our needs or climate, then explaining how everything works and how it works together to make our home efficient, safe, clean, and comfortable. The installation team was fantastic. They were scheduled for a 2 day installation and over performed installing the entire system in one day. Matthew and the 2 Nicks were great! Within 2 hours of installing the General Aire MAC high efficiency air cleaner we noticed the air felt and smelled cleaner, in spite of the poor air advisory warning for that day. Finally, Chris buttoned the system up completely by running updated thermostat wiring and relocated my thermostat so the new system is compatible with my ADT Z-Wave ADC -T2000 monitored thermostat (my request)! Throughout the entire job, Larry stayed in touch, either by email, phone, or text to make sure everything met or exceeded our expectations. They are definitely All Stars!"

"It has been nine months since our new furnace and air conditioner has been installed and I would like to make some comments regarding our experience with Total Comfort Heating and Air (TCHand A). In making the decision to replace our old furnace and air-conditioner with high efficiency units, we used the Internet and other sources to find information on brands that have a high level of reliability and support. Rheem was one of those brands. We then asked firms that represented the brands with the better reputations to provide quotations for our new system. TCHand A was quotation was lower by 5 -10% than the others and Val, who provided the quote, spend more time then most in analyzing which system would best meet our needs. Since they had strong reviews on Angie's List and from other sources, we decided to use TCHand A. We were not disappointed. The installation team headed by Dan was top notch. The removal of the old system and the installation of the new system proceeded on the schedule as discussed earlier. No shortcuts were taken. When a piece of duct work they brought the job didn't quite match, it was discarded and a correct one fabricated. They were meticulous in the installation process and ndash; if there was a question whether an additional support bracket might or might not be needed, it was added; they took time to and ldquo;square offand rdquo; wires and lines giving the installation of a professional look; and left the area cleaner than they found it. They took time to explain all the features of our new furnace and its operation. After the insulation was completed, they came back a week later to ensure everything was functioning correctly and to address any other questions or concerns.Since the new system was installed in late fall, it was not possible to activate the air conditioner at that time. In the spring they came back and activated the air-conditioner and also checked to see entire system was functioning correctly. This company seems to go the extra mile to make sure its customers are satisfied. As an example, when we installed the furnace the Michigan Energy Rebate Program had exhausted its funds for high efficiency furnaces, and therefore, the credit not available to us. Later the rebate program received a new infusion of funds and it was available for those that installed furnaces earlier. We were not aware of this situation. TCHand A was aware of the new funds and informed us of the situation and took care of all the paperwork for us to apply for the rebate.Overall, we are quite happy with our new system. It is quieter and more efficient and it was installed by a company that takes pride in having satisfied customers and doing a professional job."

"I called because the gas was going off when I turned on the gas logs of the fireplace.  He came within the hour on a Saturday, explained and showed what the problem was and how it would be repaired.  He then returned the logs in a nice fashion and cleaned up all debris.  A very satisfactory result all around. <br />"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Stockbridge, MI

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
