"Jeff Andis and his crew did a fantastic job of removing the old roofing material and replaced it with new. They were all very courteous and considerate. Their work was done in a very professional efficient manner, taking care of details. They left my home with a new roof and a very clean yard. I would not hesitate to hire Jeff Andis Roofing or to recommend him to do your home."

"Randy worked with me through the process of replacing my roof and gutters. I felt as if he went above and beyond on some small repairs that were damaged by the recent storms. He also helped guide me through the insurance process making it super easy on myself. I highly recommend using Legacy Roofing."

"I called Brent based on good Angie's reviews, and a neighbor's recommendation who previously contracted with him.  He came to the house to meet my insurance adjuster, and me, on a Sunday.  He worked with the adjuster and they agreed on the scope and price.  My only payment was my deductible.  His crew arrived when scheduled, worked 2 days and cleaned up the yard afterward.  I paid him whenever I received an insurance check.  It was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend him to anyone.  I definitely would use him again, but probably won't need to. :)"

"Two other houses on the block have the same design of metal roof and people really like it. They prefabricated all the metal so that he had everything right in place and made sure that everything was done in half a day and that was completely amazing. The reason why I went with doing metal roof was because it was fashionable and it was a faded color so it wasn't so bright or shiny. I would rate them high overall and would use them again in the future."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"He gave me some good advice to help me avoid jumping into something unnecessarily. I appreciated his integrity and professionalism. He gave me some good references for other non-roofing service providers that I might need and said that I could call him with any further roofing questions."

"we had our roof and supposeably the pipejacks, & turbines  replaced 01/06/2010, by another roofing company, the roof was ok, the pipejacks & turbines were our old ones just painted to look new, we did not climb on the roof as we trusted the roofer, the turbines started making noises & wabbling,  I climbed on the roof and took the turbine loose and could see it was  an old one, called the roofer & asked why he painted the old turbines & pipejacks , he still says they are new ones but he can't come up with the receipt, says I should send them back to the company who made them,  we were just finished with  him. I bought new turbines Contacted  Elite  Roofing & Construction, in Odessa, Tx. and had the repairs done out of our pocket. I should say I called pioneer roofing in Odessa, Tx.,& the owner was in the hospital & Sandy Sparks owner of Elite R&C  is his son. Job well done"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Strawn, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
