"We had a great experience with Ryan Hamilton Electric when they came to work on our building and in our apartment. We had discovered that the knob and tube wiring that we thought had been removed from our apartment was still present, and so we hired Ryan to remove the old type of wiring and bring our unit up to code. Ryan and his assistant Tim went above and beyond when it came to doing the work. Ryan explained very clearly to us exactly what the issues were with the knob and tube wiring and showed us exactly what had to be done to fix the problem. We had no surprises. While we were hiring Ryan to remove the old wiring, we also asked him about doing some other electrical work in our apartment. Ryan was happy to add on these further improvements and charge us only for the materials since we were already paying for the labor. Ryan listened to our desire for improved lighting and better outlets, and he presented solutions that would work for us and our kids. He found the perfect lighting fixtures for all the bedrooms and the bathroom, and he offered to improve lighting when it seemed necessary. The project took a few days; Ryan made sure we had the temporary lighting we would need in the evenings after he had completed work for the day. Ryan and Tim also cleaned up beautifully each afternoon when they were done with their work. Ryan and Tim didn't just do exemplary work. They were also warm, friendly, and affable, and a delight to have working in our apartment. We will actually miss having them around, but we were so impressed and delighted by their work that we plan to hire them again soon to improve the lighting in the kitchen and to install new outlets in the bedrooms. "Worst experience working with a contractor we have ever had. Lack of communication was astounding. Reached out to start the project on our tiny front lawn in June/July. Didn't start planting until mid October. Was told there were 5 jobs in front of ours. Ignored photos of exactly what we wanted. Finish product is passable at best. Would not recommend."

"Leisha and the team at Garden’s by the Yard helped me address some very difficult landscaping issues. Our lot borders conservation land and is slopped and extremely rocky. In addition, it is not accessible to heavy machinery. We experienced significant drainage and erosion issues. The team put in two French drains to help with erosion and Leisha developed a planting plan that leaned toward natives, would provide multiple season colors, aid in water control and would thrive in our complex soil conditions. They also installed an irrigation system to help set us up for success. The team has returned multiple times to check on the plantings and provide additional upkeep and guidance The yard turned out beautiful and I am extremely pleased. Leisha and her team were knowledgeable and easy to work with. The crews were hard-working and extremely respectful of our property."

"After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process), I finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only a few months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away."

We usually do all of our hedge abs shrub trimming ourselves, but with a few other projects going on we hadn’t gotten them all season long and they were seriously overgrown. Since we COULD do it ourselves, we had a limit on what we were willing to pay, so we were getting several quotes … most of which were higher than we had hoped. Roberto worked with us on the pricing, which was good news because now it was off of our plate! His crew was there the early next day … fast, friendly, courteous, conscientious and neat! We are now looking to have Roberto and his crew back to take a few more projects off of our plate too!
