"John and his team were fantastic from start to finish! We hired Talo's in May to complete a roughly 20' x 20' bluestone paver patio in our backyard. The estimate process was straightforwardâ John came in person and helped us imagine the design we were hoping for, and then followed-up two days later with another in-person visit to bring multiple stone options for us to choose from. He walked us through every aspect of how to work would be completed, what steps they would need to take in order to ensure the patio was level, drained properly, and achieved the design we hoped for. Our property is on a steep hill and backyard access was difficult, but John and his team made it work! We were anticipating a week to complete the patio but John and his team of six (!) all mobilized to our job and completed it in only three and a half days. And they did it in such great time WITHOUT cutting corners! Every step of the process was done meticulouslyâ the patio is level, it drains properly because John recognized the need to tie it into our existence drainage system around the back of the house to accommodate the slope of our yard. There are no loose stones, and they achieved a beautiful winding curve shape to the patio that we were looking for. The stones are set beautifully, the concrete and sand feel so secure, and the look of the stonework on the single step down from our back door onto the patio is absolutely stunning. We couldn't be happier with how the work turned out, and would recommend Talo's Masonry to anyone looking for a patio or stonework project in the area! In terms of pricing, we shopped around A LOT and ended up with 9 estimates from different companies. Talo's was right in the middle of those estimates for this project, and the materials he used for this are clearly of the quality we would expect for the price pointâ and as stated above the work itself was immaculate!"

"James and his crew just finished my yard this Friday afternoon. They did an amazing job. Let me start from the very beginning. When I called for a quote, James returned the call expediently and he came on site. He gave me a quote. The quote was in the ball park, but what was special about James is that he had a vision! He examined the grounds and immediately came out with a plan based on your needs. James started to work in this business when he was only 6 years old as this is family business of three generations. Even though he is still so young, he is so very experienced. My initial plan was to repave the driveway. But after they came that day, I told James that I would like to get the backyard patio and the retaining wall fixed. They decided to start the patio first before the driveway. They were flexible and sent a crew to work on the patio next day. The patio with the retaining wall was done perfectly. They even added a drainage pipe to divert the rain in the retaining wall. The path leading to the front door of the house needed to be done also. Again, James had a vision how the new path should flow. I adopted his plan. The crew did a fantastic job. As the back yard was uneven. The crew brought tons of dirt and levelled the back yard. They extended the size of my yard by at least one third into the woods. The yard was graded so that excessive rain would flow into the woods. I am extremely pleased with the result. Today was the last day. They had 8 or 9 crews on site. They finalized the stonework and paved the driveway. Everything was done as scheduled. I asked James to spread some pebble rocks next to the newly built path. He did it. James and his crew have exceeded my expectations! They delivered high quality work timely and professionally. They got an A in my book. The total cost of my project was $57800. It might look a little pricey, but a lot of work was done. To be specific, here is the list of work done: A good size patio with retaining all A path from patio to the driveway The walking path from the driveway to the front door of the house (long) Levelling the back yard Small wall around a good size flower bed (10x20 approximately Retaining wall by the driveway Repaving the driveway (85 feet approximately) A few days after the job was done and paid for, I found some imperfections on the driveway, James sent his crew over and fixed those imperfections. "Honestly, we cannot say enough good things about Drainage Pros. They are professional, competitively priced, trustworthy, and - most importantly - excellent at what they do.
We moved into a 1920s home with major drainage problems. Four of the six original underground drains that collected water from the downspouts were nonfunctional. Our home also sat low on the property, and when it rained water flowed across our driveway, over the patio, and into our basement by seeping over the foundation. It looked like a small river coming toward our home and disappearing underneath.
AJ responded quickly to our initial inquiry and met with us on site to discuss the project. He listened carefully to our observations while assessing the driveway, patio, and grounds before sending us a detailed proposal the next day. The proposal listed several different stages and options, which we continued to discuss with him at every step of the project. AJ was always very  knowledgeable, communicative, and professional, responding to our many questions and concerns thoroughly and patiently (even when we asked the same question multiple times). Ultimately, Drainage Pros stood by their original proposal, working within budget, and they even guaranteed their work (although we don?t expect we?ll be needing the guarantee).
They tore out and had the old driveway re-graded and repaved, installed a channel drain behind part of the home, and laid pvc pipe along the entire perimeter to collect water from all six downspouts. They ran the pipe under two bluestone patios and walkways, all of which they reset carefully. They connected the pipe to our main sewer line, which required six foot plus excavations. Lastly, they reseeded the lawn (which returned nicely), and basically restored the grounds to their original condition. The paving company they coordinated with was also excellent, and they worked hard at communicating with each other to ensure that the project was completed to our satisfaction.
Personally, what I most appreciated about working with Drainage Pros is that AJ did not trouble us with all of the things that could possibly go wrong while performing such a major job like excavating and tapping into the main sewer line. He simply assured us calmly and professionally that he and his team could do the job, and they did. Perfectly.
We had previously discussed the job with a completely different (and also highly rated) contractor who appeared flustered by our drainage issues and, after charging us >$1,000 for an assessment and cleaning, was unable to offer us a written proposal or estimate without further ?diagnostics?. Do not waste your time and money, like we did. Just hire Drainage Pros, and they will get the job done.
We now have absolutely NO DRAINAGE ISSUES and strangely even look forward to when it rains so we can see how beautifully the water flows down the driveway, into the drains, and away from the house. If you are on this site searching for a drainage specialist, perhaps you can appreciate this.
