"I am somewhat disappointed. Hopefully though, I have a waterproof flat roof, but the before and after installation was problematic. On 09/21/22 three guys showed up at about 10am, one left after 45 minutes, and the other 2 went to work. About an hour in, it started to drizzle, but the guys continued working. When it really started to rain hard they finally put up a tarp and left for the day at about 12:45pm. But the damage was done. Below the roof, the ceiling in the room was partially wet, resulting in some soaked insulation on the attached tile material; causing one to even fall from the ceiling from the weight of the water, which also resulted in some tiles to separate their ceiling tile material cover from the insulation. Also, enough water came through the ceiling to wet some of the carpet. On the following day at 9am sharp, three guys showed up and went immediately to work. They were done by 4:00pm. Upon inspection of the roof it was pointed out there was a sizeable glue spill stain on the rubberized roof material, but no effort was made to remove it. Finally, as they left, they dragged at least one, or two, of the debris bags across the driveway, scratching and scarring the cement. The one adjective that comes to mind is careless. Maybe I’m neat picking but for the premium price, and sterling reputation, I expected not to have these types of issues on an otherwise good job."

"I recently sought help from Dr. Flue to repair a gap that had formed where mortar around my chimney had apparently eroded over time. From first contact with their office, to the final visit and completion of the work, my experience with Dr. Flue’s staff was exceptional… They took time to understand the issue and provide me a simple cost estimate; scheduled a time to come out and shot me a reminder a couple days ahead of the visit; then showed up on time and prepared. Once onsite, they confirmed the work we had discussed would address the issue I originally reported. Then pointed out some significant chimney flashing issues I was unable to see from the ground. These were a result of a recent, shoddy roof re-shingle job done by another contractor. I was impressed how they stayed objective and did not bad-mouth the roofers - just pointed out the issues and likely consequences I could expect if they were to go unaddressed. "I was told there was a crack at the top of my chimney, allowing water to enter the chimney, was told they sealed it and no more water would get in. The next rain storm, tons of water leaking inside, called them to have them come back, was told someone would be out, no one came, called three more times on different days, was told twice someone would be out, no one came, eventually they stopped returning my calls. Had another company come out, they immediately found a few areas where mortar was completely missing around some bricks and the old caulking at the roof line had large holes in it. The other company sealed and caulked, no more leaks. When Best Chimney replaced the porch steps, they only mortared one side of the steps, but left large gaps at the top of the step where it met the porch and left large gaps open along the other side where each step met each other and met the side of the porch. The large gaps will make great homes for ants and wasps, when asked why they didn't fill the gaps all the way around, I was told because it will just crack open when the house shifts. It really just looked like they ran out of mortar mix and didn't want to waste time/money making more. I sealed up the gaps myself. When they did the gutter, they ran the down spout right up against the house below my window, so water will pour out against my wall/house. Never saw that before, everyone knows you need water to run AWAY from your house, not against it. I had to remove the down spout and fix it myself. They're responsive until they do the work and get your money, but after that you will never get a return call and no one will ever come back to correct any issues. They did this to me the last time I used them about 3 years ago for brick work. I will never use or recommend this company again."

"The entire project went very well. The crew performed the job within the time frame specified and within the quote/price agreed upon. Bob (contractor/owner) was very precise in his proposal which meant I knew exactly what materials and fixtures were included in the quote. This was a far cry from the other companies I contacted previously who provided sloppy quotes, dubious pricing and vague information on their proposals. I requested some changes to the scope of work (i.e. tile choices, faucet types etc) and they all went very smoothly since everything was clearly itemized in Bob's proposal. Brian (installer) and his crew did a wonderful, top-quality job the entire time. We had a few minor hiccups along the way but Brian handled them quickly and professionally. The crew made sure that the entire area was swept clean at the end of the day and that provisions were made to keep the rest of the home as dust-free as possible. Communicating with both Bob and Brian was not an issue. They were both very prompt in replying either to my calls, texts or emails. All in all a great job. Kudos to Bob, Brian and the rest of the team!"
