"FIVE STARS!! EMPWR is awesome please bring them your business. Eugene The owner just saved us so much money! Single mom here on a budget. My electricity went out and I tried to do my do diligence by checking the breaker but I missed something. The owner was kind enough to face time with me and saw the issue. He explained what I missed and then we had lights. Please call them for all your electrical needs. This was the most helpful honest company I've ever encountered."

"Very well.  As with any job laying conduit underground there were a few unpleasant surprises contributed by the caliche under the soil, and a couple of timing issues with subcontractors, but nonetheless they were able to bring the job in on time and on budget.  They accomplished exactly what we wanted.  The other jobs, hooking up a water heater and swapping out the defunct pool lights were also done quickly and well.   <br /> The three people who were here the most, Don, Michael and Sam were great to work with.  The others were fine too, just don't know their names and they were here only for the stat up. <br />"

"Andy did a great job on wiring a new building as well as adding cat 5 wiring to my existing home. He worked around some challenging access issues for the cat 5 install and made sure everything was working before he left. The quality of all the work was outstanding. He provided some good advice in one aspect of the install in the new build, helping me avoid a costly mistake. He was very friendly, timely, and easy to work with. His prices were entirely fair. I 100% recommend Andy!"

"Ken and his team rewired a studs up remodel in downtown Austin during Covid for us. They were flexible, competent and actually showed when they said they would. They even responded to random texts answering questions and taking on more work we had to force them to take money for...seriously he&#39;s amazing. In addition to a new panel, removing all old wiring and installing new wiring for the complete house, Ken ran lines and installed 12 POE cameras, ran fiber to an exterior junction, installed networked smoke/CO2 detectors, and installed about 20 pot lights in the ceilings. The house being from the 1950&#39;s and having random &#34;quirks&#34; with pinned down old wiring didn&#39;t bother Ken or his apprentice and I found them at the house a couple of Sundays making sure they got the work done. Seriously, it&#39;s almost like I want to tell random people at the coffee shop &#34;hey you need an electrician? I know this company &#39;Morningstar Electric.....&#34;"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Taylor, TX

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
