"We feel very lucky to have found David to paint our historic home. David is very skilled at repairing cracks and defects in sheet rock. The areas he repaired look perfect. He is very precise when it comes to details such as proper paints, matching, and repairs. He is equally great when it comes to exterior work. He is also very fair with pricing and shows up as scheduled. He does not rush the job and does not ask to be paid until the job is done. We will definitely be calling David for any future work that needs to be done."

"The master bathroom required removal and replacement of several fixtures, as well as repair of water damage to the vanity and walls. The results were outstanding, with all areas now looking as good as new. I will certainly contact Ron for any future projects that arise, and I highly recommend his services."

"I put in a request for a painter to paint my garage door, Jeff Hawkin with Texas Painting Company texted within minutes. He quoted a reasonable price, said he could do it the next day, and did just that. The work was great! I like a company who communicates quickly, efficiently, and completes the job quickly! My kind of project!"

"Stephen came in to the rescue after our first contractor left us hanging with an unfinished kitchen. He was sensitive to our concerns and very responsive and committed to helping us have our dream kitchen. He and his staff were very responsive and respectful."

"Danny reached out right away and offered an estimate based on some pics I sent him. Price was very reasonable and I appreciated his urgency to help since it could have been a dangerous situation. Danny showed up on time, did the work and was very nice. I will definitely used his services again."

"This is the worst experience I?ve ever had with any ?professional? anything in my entire life. These people destroyed my house. The communication was TERRIBLE and frankly sexist. Carlos only responded to my husband and almost never me, who actually hired them. They were told the house needed to be cleaned & ready for new floors in 3 days. I was told the ceilings were ?perfect.? I went to check and they left the house a MESS. There was popcorn and drywall dust everywhere. The flooring guys had to take extra time to move all of their stuff and clean before installing. They then took 2 more days to ?complete? the job. However, now my walls are trashed. They did a terrible job. I?m devastated. This is my first home and now every inch must be repaired & painted. They destroyed original light fixtures, closet doors and the beams on my ceiling- these were original to our 1970 house and cannot be replaced. The walls are covered in drywall paste. It?s a disaster. Everything is covered in dust."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Taylor, TX

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
