"Hired to move some designated pieces of furniture and other items from primary home in NE to a BRAND NEW CONSTRUCTION home in Big Pine Key, FL. Items were picked up on 7/20 and initially going to warehouse in Dallas. Requested Delivery 7/29-8/1. Husband and I drove down and arrived 7/28. Contacted company 7/29 to be informed everything was still in warehouse. When asked if they were still coming this week was told probably not. After two days of back and forth, was informed they try and honor delivery requests but it states 3-21 days in contract with day 1 being when you can accept delivery and you don't count weekends. Husband and I had to fly back home to NE on 8/3 and I said 21 days could be 8/26. I was told it might not be that long and I said I am going to need at minimum of 72 hours as I can't just drop everything and jump on a plane. That did happen and scrambled on a flight paying additional $600. Damaged house and furniture from delivery cost us nearly $4000 to fix. RUN!"

"National Van Lines only sent us two guys to pickup our items. The delivery was much better with three guys. However, they packed our items pretty tight and things got crush a bit. So, the service was okay for the money we paid. "

"If you?ve been scammed out of crypto, don?t automatically think it?s all gone forever. I honestly thought I was done for when it happened to me. Back in November, I lost thousands of dollars to a crypto scam. When I realized what had happened, I completely panicked. I ended up opening up to my brother about it, and he helped calm me down and connected me with an Anthony who actually knew how to track and recover stolen crypto. With time and patience, the funds were recovered, and I was also given advice on how to avoid getting scammed again. I?m really grateful things worked out for me, and I know how overwhelming it feels when you?re in that situation. Just know there can still be hope if you?re careful and get the right help. if you have any enquiries or you are once a victim feel free to reach out to the agent who help me EMAIL: Barristerthompsonwalers@gmail.com"

"Please DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE COMPLETE FRAUDS and THIEVES! They still have not delivered nor allowed me to pick up my furniture and I paid 80% of the estimated price. Following is a sequence of events: July 30th, 2020: Jonnie gives me an estimate to move from Miami Beach to Brimfield, Massachusetts with a 30-day storage (free according to the contract) at which time on the 30th day, I would move into my new place. I paid a down payment of $190 for a move out date from Miami Beach on August 4th at 9:00 am. I reserved my building’s elevator from 9-12 to facilitate the move. I am in Massachusetts due to COVID and arranging this from afar. August 4th-Movers show up at 11:30 which is 2 ½ hours after what I had agreed to with Jonnie. So I had to re-book the elevator for the afternoon 3-6 in order not to be charged another month’s rent by my building. The movers show up at 4:45 and end up completing the move. August 19th-Yaron says they are in Massachusetts (even though my things were supposed to be in storage until September 4th). He demands 70% to be paid upfront once they “arrive in Mass” and says he can’t take any other payment but Zelle which I have never used before. I find this very odd and ask him to pick up my things and that I would complete the move. He and Jack yell and bully me and say that they can’t tell me anything until I pay 70%. So I download Zelle and pay him 70% and ask them to tell me where my things were and Jack says he now can’t tell me anything until I pay the full balance. Jack says that my things will be delivered “around September 4th but cannot make any date guarantees”. I ask him for a copy of the contract because the link Jonnie gave me no longer works. I also ask him for a copy of my Zelle payment and the receipt of what I have paid so far. He does not respond. He does not respond. So I have no contract and no receipt of any payment at this point. August 19th-September 2nd- I email and text Jack to ask for my contract and an update on my move and belongings and there is no response. September 3rd-I text Jack and tell him that if he doesn’t give me a copy of what I have already paid and my contract that I would take him to court, call the media, call the police, and file with the BBB and the Federal Transportation Dept. He finally sent me a copy of the receipt of what I have paid. But still no contract. So I contact my attorney and he says to pay the balance and get the stuff from storage. September 4th-Today is my move-in date and still, I have no contact from the company. I text Jack and ask him where I could pay the remaining balance of the move to pick up my belongings and have my family help me with my move over the long weekend. He doesn’t get back to me. Sep 5th- I call Jack’s number and he says he’s working on getting me the address of the storage unit where my thighs are and would get back to me. He does not. September 6th- I call Yaron at a number that Jack gave me and Yaron says he’s working on getting me the address as well and once that’s ready that I have to pay via Zelle because that’s the only way to pay. I ask him about my contract and he says it’s in the storage unit with my belongings. So, I still have no belongings and no contract. That is the last I have heard from them. At this point, I am out the 80% I have paid this company, and I still have no contract and no belongings. They are obviously con artists and I will most likely never see my belongings. I am calling the media, taking them to small claims court in Florida and I’ve hired an attorney."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Thomasville, GA

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
