They were a pleasure to work without throughout the project, which included over 100 feet of cinder block walls and 1,000 sq ft of pavers in the driveway and across a front patio and stairs. They worked with us on a some design thoughts up front, and each of their project foremen were able to help us work through some questions that came up during the project. The end result is fabulous -- the project became the buzz of the neighborhood, and we've had several friends call us to let us know it was transformational. They did the whole project within the original bid (which was highly competitive with the other contractors), and didn't try to nickel and dime us for small changes along the way (we paid for one project addition that was outside the scope of the original project). "Having managed dozens of renovations over the years, both commercial and residential, I can say that Joe Messineo is the best contractor I have ever hired, in any craft. No minor distinction. A 3rd generation master stone mason, Joe is an old school modern craftsman who produces quality builds. I engaged him to demolish and rebuild virtually all of the hardscape at my home---driveway, side walkways, French drain, brick patio inserts, and over 150 feet of retaining walls. A 7-week job, with more than a few moving parts. Joe’s team, Enrique and Claudio, worked like stunt men in a choreographed manner, carefully removing thousands of pounds of old concrete and cinder blocks, positioning rebar and framing the sites for cement. The worksite was clean and orderly at the end of each day. Then, 2 generations of Messineo---Joe, with a guest appearance by his father, built a complex series of retaining walls and brick inserts, that will clearly last decades longer than the original work from 1959. Every line dead-level, every elevation plumb, and every surface finished perfectly. The concrete team that completed the job with 2 truckloads of wet mix, delivered flawless slabs of new surface. Their overall level of craftsmanship and professionalism is not often to be seen these days, and it deserves recognition when it arrives."

"Had an above average experience. For starters the project was finished so fast. I feel like when it comes to any kind of construction project I just expect the project to go way over schedule, this was not the case. The only problem I had was not being able to decide which styles to go with which took me some time to decide but after I knew what I wanted the designer was accommodating and flexible. I was told the back patio would be done in 7 days and it was. That was just one cool thing about it. The crew was super nice. There was no mess afterwards. Or while they were working on the pavers which has bugged me with other companies in the past. Pavers look great, they match the house. I wish I could do more to my yard but will definitely call back when I'm able to."
