"SODO Construction did an excellent job on my flat roof. Efficient and cleaned up after themselves. And most important, no leaks and cost effective."

"I began the search for a roofer some eighteen months before discovering SunRise Roofing through a recommendation by Chris Leonards at RWC roofing supply. Over the past 26 years, RWC has always pointed me to the right people to help me with my flat roof issues. I did not want a tear off losing the insulation value of the old polyurethane foam roof applied back in 1975. All the roofers except those who did silicone said I would require a costly tear off. Some of the roofers recommending TPO admitted that the heat sealed seams of TPO applications require periodic inspections and maintenance, and TPO can be penetrated if something like a swamp cooler panel corner is accidentally dropped or carelessly sat down on the membrane. Moreover, a TPO application requires gluing or nailing, or both to secure the membrane to the roof decking, and after a tear off, additional repairs may be required before application. My roof was solid to walk on and only minor leaks had developed 25 years after a bituminous overlay of the foam applied in 1975. Over 45 years, the foam compressed, causing ponding resulting in the canale basins becoming higher than the average plane of the roof. So, I considered a silicone application which withstands ponding and does not require a tear off. Hence, SunRise was recommended. Upon calling SunRise, Daisy advised me SunRise no longer was doing silicone applications due to discovering a superior, tougher new roof application, Ecodur, manufactured by Castagra. See: [*** Link removed ***] After investigating TPO, silicone, poly-elastomers, tar and gravel, and torch down, I settled on the Ecodur, applying two layers with polyester fabric embedded between and no tear off required. This results in a seamless, flexible bond which is impossible to tear without using a power saw, industrial scissors and box cutters; is difficult to penetrate unless using a hammer and nails; withstands ponding; is maintenance free and easy to permanently patch or repair in the extreme unlikelihood of damage. Ecodur finishes like a dance floor! Compared to other roofing materials, it's like science fiction. As a do it yourself kind of guy, in most of my experience, others doing work for me usually leave something to be desired after declaring the work finished. SunRise Roofing is the exception to this. After agreeing to the cost and the simple straight forward terms of warranty, for extra measure, SunRise's crew custom formed various shapes of channels to shed and direct water toward and out the canales, virtually eliminating the extensive ponding which served to break down the roof since owning the house; this, despite Ecodur being able to withstand ponding. Martin Nevarez, the owner of Sunrise welcomed my participation, suggestions and applications of my own knowledge regarding the roof I have lived under and maintained since 1972. Martin and all his employees acted as my partners in getting the job done to my standards or better. Moreover, without exception, his business operates like a family, and after working with his superb crew, I couldn't help but feel that I had become a part of the SunRise family as well. Everyone at SunRise acted in behalf of my interests and were not satisfied until I was. The results are what I would have wanted to achieve if I had to do the work myself; I can offer no higher praise than that. Daisy, Camille or Marjorie will answer your call and get you in touch with Dale Petty or Larry Price to get you started. Marjorie has done her own roofing applications of Ecodur, likes to experiment and thoroughly knows the characteristics of Ecodur first hand and will charmingly share her experiences with anyone who is interested and wants to learn from her."

"We have older flat roof that had 3 leaks - One roofer quoted much more for a full silicone coating. Another one said roof had to be torn off and done again for MUCH more. Ken pointed out that our existing surface was fine and just the joints needed work and he proposed a maintenance-level job with silicone at a more reasonable cost, with a 5-yr warranty. Job got done on schedule, just on time for rain and snow. Phew! It came out looking neat. The workers were careful at every step, helpful and pleasant in their communication."

"Great Experience ! Interviewed 4 local roofing contractors, both well known and on Angiâ s list. They replaced our 24 year old roof with new TPO roofing. Our home was over 3300 sq.ft, so this was not a little job. Worked with his estimator Mark, he explained the entire project from start to finish, the quality control DHS Roofing and the owner David Holguin would bring to our reroofing. They were spot on! The entire crew was professional, knowledgeable, and worked late each day to provide us with a new quality TPO roof. Both the owner and estimator were on site each of the 4 days of our project. I would highly recommend you consider them for your roofing needs."

"Haven’t hired yet… but very impressed with professional, knowledgeable assessments of my roof leak problems… waiting for estimate but will likely hire them based on my initial impression"

"Very responsive. Reasonable. Did long needed maintenance. Appreciate his associates. I've asked him to do patio and concrete work. Looking forward to working with them and get long awaited home repairs taken care of. Trustworthy. Likeable."

"Sunrise roofing were very prompt with there job for my house and my friends are all raving about the job that was done in such a short time period."

"All bids came in within a few hundred dollars. The roof of my house was replaced back in 2014 by another contractor. The original contractor did not repair the flat roof portion of the house properly and we had issues with tar oozing out the edges and dropping down on the concrete surface below and in one place it blocked up the gutter. The guys showed up in the early hours, replaced the damaged roof and cleaned up behind the gutters and removed the tar from the block gutter all by the end of the day. They did an excellent job and even though they were not the least expensive, they were able get the job done in the time frame I required."

"Felipe and his crew did a large project for me (back porch) and myriad smaller items to repair our new home. Short version: I'll definitely be using them again and recommending them, but you need to be engaged. They are not a set-and-forget crew. In general, the quality of the work is high. The porch is exactly as we imagined it and we're quite happy. The only issues I have with some of the work is the fit and finish. Roofing nails missing the joists weren't redone, so now there are nails hanging into my porch. The ramset nails they used to attach the base plate to the concrete pad had some kind of wax/rubber around them which wasn't completely removed prior to painting, so there are weird nubs sticking up on the base plate. Some of the screws on door moulding weren't puttied over. The biggest issue I had with them was communication and scheduling. Felipe forgot a few parts of the project and things got dropped a few times. It worked out because I was paying close attention, but I think he may just have too much going on so things will fall between the cracks. Scheduling was a regular issue. Our project took place right outside of our bedroom, so we wanted to know the night before if they would be there. It was about 50/50 whether they'd give us that heads up. They also broke an expensive high security lock and I was not reimbursed or discounted. On the scale of the project, it was a rounding error in cost, but it's the principle of the matter on that one."

"I called Alvarado Roofing for an estimate and they were the only company that came out *and* climbed up on the roof to measure and really look at my roof to see what they were getting into. They removed all the layers of hail damaged roofing as well as our flat roof over our patio and replaced it with hail resistant shingles and some really awesome roofing for over the patio. They also decked over where the swamp cooler was (had A/C installed later). They did all of this in one day! They kept in touch and followed up throughout and after the job. We highly recommend!"
