"Nick was great! He responded right away to my inquiry. We needed a valve changed under the kitchen sink to allow for installation of a new dishwasher. Nick quickly made a new set of shut-off valves and fixed us up super quick. Beyond the great plumbing work he was so nice to my 6 year old son who was very excited to see the work being done and asked a million questions. This repair was actually in my in-laws house. They are not great with English and he took the time to explain the work to my father in law. Nick is very professional and patient. We are going to have Nick come back and fix some more things soon. I 100% recommend him, its really nice to have a plumber you can trust!!!"

"We have a basement bathroom with a floor drain that backs up when the shower is used. Both the toilets in this old house were getting tempermental, too, so it was time to call a plumber. I'd never used a plumber in this area before, so I went to Angie's list for a recommendation. I liked what I saw under Grumpy's Drains  business description, so I called. A friendly woman made an appointment for me for the very next day, explained their flat rates (which I liked), and asked if the plumber could come early if he finished the job scheduled ahead of mine early. I said sure.
   Well, Keith called me the next morning, and ended up coming an hour early, which was great. He and his helper, Dan, were friendly and helpful, and got right to work. They had all four drains cleared in no time, ran lots of water to test them, and then Keith explained to me how to avoid problems in the future. All of his suggestions were relatively inexpensive things I can realistically do, and I will.  The whole thing was quick, clean and DONE, taking only about 20 minutes start to finish, and on top of that, Keith ended up charging me for only two of the four drains he cleared.
So, to recap:
The appointment was made easily and I didn't have to wait.
He came early, did the job quickly and efficiently, was friendly, helpful and clean, and left me a more educated consumer.
He charged me LESS than I had agreed to pay.
I had put off having this done for so long, worried that it was going to be expensive to handle, and now I feel pretty silly about that, but I also feel pretty happy to have found such a good plumber.

"The crew who came to the house included: Chris, Josh, Christian and Jeff. They were all very professional and they explained very clearly what work needed to be done and where they would need to cut into walls and ceilings. We have a 3 bathroom house with a full finished basement. The crew attempted to make easy cuts for me to repair. The house was as clean as can be expected after two days of work. The job was done completely and thoroughly. We had an issued with the shut off valve and they returned the next day to fix our issue and Josh came out he was professional and friendly. "I have used Malmedal for years.  They are my  plumber.   I always get the same plumber, Oliver.  Always on time.  Reasonably priced.  Very professional.  Oliver always has time to answer questions and offer advice.  Sometimes he answers questions that have nothing to do with the current job.  Like this last time I had questions about my septic tank. The work is always done right the first time.  In the past, I have had them clean drains, fix faucets, install faucets, install hot water heater, and add straps for the water heater to code.  I never have to search for a plumber.

"While walking down stairs I leaned too heavily on the pole handrail and broke one of the 2 brackets holding it to the wall.  I am a senior citizen and my balance is poor.  It is hard for me to climb stairs without having a rail to steady me. 
I found Charles on Angie's List and saw that he lived within a mile of my home.  I called him on a Saturday evening and he came right over.  He cheerfully put on a new bracket.  Actually he already owned one very similar to the one he replaced--but his was stronger.
This did not take Charles long but I still wanted to pay him for his time and gas.  He  did not want to take any money--just said to give a donation to charity.  I made him take a few bucks for his trouble and will still give to charity as well!
The reason I'm taking the time to write a review for such a small service is to let people know that this young man has uncommon character, a great work ethic and a wonderful attitude.  He has certainly engendered a lot of good will with me.  I would not think twice about using him again for a bigger project or referring him to anyone who needs work done in their home.   You don't find people like this very often.
