"We bought a new washer and dryer and after only 3 weeks the "check vent" light came on. My first thought was a malfunction, but after some inquiries and research, we learned that cleaning the lint filter in the dryer after every load isn't enough. I called Dryer Vent Doctor and spoke to Paul, who explained the machine needs clear air flow to the outside (also to prevent a fire). He explained the process, set an appointment for less than 2 days away, and arrived precisely on time. Paul was very personable and professional and instilled a lot of confidence in us. The quality of his work was outstanding: he cleaned out the entire duct, working from both the bottom of the vent and from the roof. He also discovered and removed a misplaced baffle left from original construction that was partially blocking the duct. The entire process took just under 1/2 hour. "Most everything went ok but I was a little disappointed that the service tech did not do a more thorough job by cleaning the lint filter area and the exhaust outlet on the dryer itself. According to the tech, "he was not licensed to do that". This left a significant amount of Visible lint still in the dryer itself.  He did loosen and blew out a lot of lint in the exhaust tube that went from the dryer to the roof exhaust, however. But I still thought more should be done to get a more thorough cleaning.  <br /> Also, in checking the connection behind the dryer, it was necessary to move the washer and dryer somewhat. The tech seemed very unsure of himself in attempting to do this causing me to have to assist him. Then in putting the units back, he did not ensure they were level. This became very apparent when we attempted to use the washer a couple days later only to find the washer jumping all over the place. This continued over several different loads until I leveled the unit again myself with help of a friend.  I really expected the service to include attention to all of these items thereby leaving the operational condition of my appliances ideally better but definitely not worse than it was before. <br />"
