"I highly recommend Shane Diffin from Mid Michigan Duct Cleaning. He immediately responded to my request and did the work the next day. He sent a video while he was on the job as I was unable to be home. Easy and reasonable payment available through Venmo."

"THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WITH SHEREN HAS BEEN VERY GOOD. THE FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS WITH A TECHNICIAN (BRANDON, I THINK) WHO WAS FANTASTIC. HE WAS HONEST AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. IT BECAME APPARENT THAT OUR BEST OPTION WAS TO REPLACE RATHER THAN REPAIR FOR THE COTTAGE THAT WE HAD PURCHASED THE SAME DAY WE MET WITH BRANDON! <br /> AFTER DECIDING TO REPLACE WE DISCUSSED OPTIONS AND PRICING WITH HEATING AND COOLING CONTRACTOR WE USE AT OUR YEAR ROUND HOME. HE FELT THE PRICING WAS FAIR AND AGREED WITH ALL RECOMMENDATIONS. <br /> ONCE WE HIRED SHEREN THEY GAVE ME A DATE THE WORK WOULD BE STARTED AND COMPLETED (ADAM IS GREAT, AS WELL). WE WERE NOT THERE DURING THE WORK (WHICH IS UNNERVING FOR US) BUT ARRIVED TO A NEW FURNACE, CLEAN AIR DUCTS AND NO SIGN THAT THEY HAD BEEN THERE OTHERWISE. IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND I WILL USE SHEREN AGAIN. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"I needed carpets cleaned on short notice. I had originally called Scott's Carpet Cleaning and when they were not available, they highly recommended Bigelow Carpet. I called, left a message and they got back to me right away. They were able to fit me in on the day I needed. Steve called me that morning to keep me informed of arrival time. Pricing is based on sq ft. Upon arrival, he measured the areas to be cleaned and gave me a quote. I got a 10% discount because there was no furniture in the house. He did an excellent job deep cleaning the carpets and they were dry in a few hours. He also checked the dryer vent and air vents and made some recommendations.  He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely call Bigelow again in the future. <br />"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Traverse City, MI

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
