"My wife and I were greatly impressed with the sevices provided. Dustin was the assigned project manager. He was with us from the beginning to the end. He responded to any questions or concerns promptly. He provided the estimate for the work performed and suggested areas of concern that would require eventual repair. He inspected the roof and provided pictures of the roof to explain what needed to be addressed. The work crew went right to work on the date that Dustin stated they would. They were very profesional and worked hard throughout the day. Upon completion of the job, the crew cleaned up the entire yard and returned patio furniture back to their original positions. The day after the installation, a company representative returned with a rolling magnet to retrieve any roofing nails that might have been missed during the prior day. He again policed the area for any other roofing materials."

"I had Drew with Crown Exteriors come to inspect my roof for hail damage as they give free estimates. He was very knowledgeable and anwered all my questions without hesitation. I had no hail damage but if I ever need anything in the future related to my roof or gutter, he will be the first one I call. I highly recommend Drew and Crown Exteriors!"

"I noticed shingles missing off my roof and several storms came through this spring. I contacted three different roofing companies to give me an estimate on what needed repaired. The first two companies both tried to tell me I needed an entire roof replacement. I contacted ferguson roofing who told me the majority of the roof was still in good shape and only need a few hundred dollars of shingle replacements. After the estimate a date was given for the work and they showed up on time and completed the job. Not only were they honest and reliable but they are huge supporters of first responders and military."

"He gave me a very good price. I got an estimate from another fellow who I thought was going to give me a good price but I called Martin and he gave me an estimate that was 800 dollars less. He put specialty constructed shingles on my roof. There was four of them that came out. They did it in two days. They tore it off and put it on. The cleanup was immaculate. They saved me a lot of money. The roof was a very large roof. I didn't think it was a bad price at all."

"Mike and his crew did an awesome job on a roof installation job on a new build. He was also able to remediate various issues caused by imperfections in other contractors work. Really nice work and he is quick to address any issues or concerns that arise. This is the second job I've worked with Mike on and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again! He also installed the cupola!"

"The crew at Elite Roofing gave me an estimate for repairing my damaged roof that was the result of a bad install from a prior company.  The roof had already leaked in several places so Elite Roofing did an outstanding job getting me into their schedule as quickly as possible.  They were also very understandable about my budget issues and worked with me to get a great looking roof at an affordable cost.  Their professionalism and work etic are in my opinon among the best I have ever seen.  I look forward to doing business with them again.  Thank's Angie's List for helping me find them. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Troy, MO

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
