Pete responded promptly to my initial inquiry, came out ASAP to provide an estimate on the cracked step (and on a bigger "dream" project I've been thinking about), explained what had likely caused the damage, and gave me several options for either replacing the step just as it had been, or upgrading a little bit depending on my price range. His recommendations were good, and we didn't feel pressured at all, but the full reshaping of the step into a rounded one was a bit outside our budget so we took him up on enlarging it by several inches instead. Overall, Pete was friendly and professional, and had that air of experienced competence that you look for in someone doing work on your house. I didn't even bother getting a second estimate. I did, however, call a good friend who has worked in the brick industry for years, and he assured me that the price Pete quoted was right in line with what he would expect for my project if you want it done right. When I gave Pete the green light, he scheduled the work promptly, showed up in the morning on time a few days later, and knocked the whole project out by that same afternoon. Put simply, the step looks great. It was done promptly, in line with our budget and at the price Pete originally quoted, and our whole experience with him was easy and hassle-free. The new brick color is matched perfectly with the old brick (absent a decade of wear and tear obviously), as is the cement, and it is clearly quality construction. In sum, I would highly recommend PK Masonry to anyone, and I will definitely use him again if I can ever convince my wife to let me pull the trigger on that dream project I've been thinking about..."

"I loved receiving actual blueprints from Rollin during the course of the design process. He was patient and accommodating each time I suggested a change or took my time with a decision. His entire crew is hard working, punctual, polite and knowledgeable. All are a pleasure to work with. We began the actual install in Oct/Nov. of 2010. The crew came out numerous times the spring/summer  of last year to monitor the new plants and maintain the areas where sod was removed. A few of the new plants did not make it through their first winter, and were replaced without question. "You are only charged per visit and you are not on a retainer. If they don't come out you are not charged. They do a good job. The guys are pleasant and friendly. The owner is very responsive when you bring issues to his attention. Most things are handled on the next visit. He has great communication between he and his staff. I have had them install plants in the past and they did a good job. When I met with the owner he told me they charge per trip because he feels like they have to earn your business every time. I thought that was a good philosophy to run the business by. I had bought some stones for a patio and did not have time to install so I paid them for the labor to do that. They did a really good job. They installed a river rockbed to help with drainage. He gives a line by line estimate up front. There are no hidden charges. If you want to shot the materials he allows you to do that. I walked around the yard and gave him a wish list. Because of his finances I was able to prioritize what I wanted. It was a lot of work on his part but it was very helpful. He is very reachable by phone or email. I always hear from him within 24 hours."
