"Bryan explained the materials to be used and how his crew would do the work thoroughly. His crew then came in and replace our large roof in 1 day using 2 crews. Excellent job and clean up guys!!! Thanks Bryan for a great replacement experience at a better price than the "big box" roofing companies. Saved me some $$ using the same materials!! Loved the drone pictures you proved also."

"Our roof is only a few years old, but the company that installed it has gone out of business.  So when our roof started leaking we looked on Angie's list to find someone who could fix it.  Doug from Lanier roofing called us back and came out to give us an estimate the very same day we initially called. He told us that they have an $850 minimum for jobs so most likely the work would be cheaper than that, but he was still willing to give us an estimate.  He spent time in our attic and outside inspecting the roof.  Told us what he suspected the problem was and that it would be much less than the $850 minimum they require. So although we did not use their services because the job was too small, we were impressed with their customer service and would consider them in the future.  Doug even called us back later to mention one other possibility that might be causing the leak.  We were impressed that he did this even though he knew we wouldn't be using their company this time. <br /> <br />"

"Roof repairs Work was done well and as proposed at a reasonable price and in a timely fashion. The only quibble I had was that they left some trash and beverage cans on the property. Nevertheless I recommend them and would hire them again."

"I wanted a certified and experienced professional to handle my new roof installation and I found him. Mr Hamby and his roofing crew got the job done right and exceeded my expectations. All of the materials used are of a higher quality than the original roof. When the old roof was removed he also found some rotted decking because the roofers that put on the original roof did not seal up their toe board holes. He fixed the decking and I am relieved that I do not have to worry about things like that with the roof he installed! I highly recommend Mr Hamby for a roof repair or entire roof replacement."

"OC replaced my roof about 4-5 years ago and did an excellent job. So recently when a big piece of fascia board flew off during some extremely bad weather days, I called them and spoke directly with the owner Rich Ozburn. He assured me they would be over as soon as weather permitted and sure enough, first decent day they called to come out and measure for a new piece of fascia. Few days later they returned to install it. Not only did they install that piece but also went around entire house to check for any more damaged fascia AND also got up on my roof to check any possible damage there. Very impressed by their thoroughness and work ethic. Happy customer (again)! Highly recommend! Thanks Rich & OC!!"

"It went great. I left a message on Angies List and they emailed me the next morning requesting specific information to set up a free roof inspection. Randy sent his experienced roofer, Victor, whom was on time. He assessed the roof and took many pictures. He gave me the estimate and explained the details of the repair. We then set up a day to do the work and they came and completed the job in a timely manner. The shingles around the entire house at the gutters line look great."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Tyrone, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
