"I had a new roof installed on my home and detached garage structure- all done in one full day! It's been almost 3 months since the installation, and we've had our share of high winds and storms, but things are looking good. Pricing was very reasonable (even better than local competitors), and DWM did not try to upsell us for things that we didn't need. They had an abundant and highly efficient crew, and the supervisors I worked with were extremely knowledgable when it came to answering any roofing questions I had. Even the office staff were a pleasure to work with throughout the project. Would I hire DWM in the future? Absolutely. And I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a new roof installed, or even an older one repaired. Thanks for everything!"

"Stefan was busy due to a bad storm north of me. We schedule a date, but he had a accident and contacted me. I was under control with my problem so we schedule a week later. He kept me inform with his progress and he came on the date promised. He checked out the roof and the pipe. He caulk the pipe and the seams to prevent leakage. He took photos for me to see what he did.  He always explain to me about the roof issues because I like to learn for any future problems that might arise. I recommend Stefan if you need any roof repair or a new roof. <br />"

"Rebuild was excellent to deal with. With the recent wind storm, all of the roofers I contacted were scheduled out. Rebuild kept me informed, set a date and time for the repairs and showed up on time. The repairs were completed in a timely manner and look great. Thanks Rebuild."

"<p>The job was done quickly and professionally.  </p> <p>Two crew members came out and worked on the chimney.  They replaced a section of the chimney that had started flaking and falling off.  You can't even tell there was work done to it.  The brick is perfectly matched.  They did the job in about 4 hours.  It is absolutely perfect.</p> <p>The roofers came a few days later and replaced the roof.  They took off the old roof , swept off all the debris, laid down an underlayment and then installed the new shingles.  The crew was fast, courteous and efficient.  The project was completed in one day, including clean-up.</p> <p>I would recommend Politz Enterprises for roofing and gutter projects for the quality workmanship and fair prices they provide.  The professionalism and work ethic of the work crews is an asset to the company.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"Bealing Roofing and Exteriors did a phenomenal job from the estimate down to the install and cleanup. They provided us with samples, complete written comprehensive estimate prior to the job and were prompt in responding to questions. On the day of install the entire property around the work area was protected by tarps. The installers were professional and answered questions from my husband as they came up. They worked quickly and cleanly. On completion of the job they were extremely thorough on their cleanup. The finished roof is gorgeous! I'd highly recommend them to anyone for service and their price."

"<strong>Economic Roofing has to be one of the best Roofers in the entire Baltimore /Washington area. A friend of mine who was a commercial roofer told me that Economic Roofing was the best residential roofer so I used them. The owner Ty Hines is great as was the jobsite foreman Vilmar. They replaced the a lot roof, Sheathing, facia boards, painted the facia, new gutters and covers. I had a leak and they came out immediately on December 31st. They are a great group of people who know what they are doing and are fast. I bought a top of the line 50 year roof and love the way it looks.</strong> <br />"

"Hired them to do a BGE home energy audit, and Larry Tennant performed this for the company. This included an inspection of the attic insulation which resulted in a lot of ceiling drywall essentially coming off the joists, multiple nails popping through the paint. I was really unhappy with this new problem, since what was supposed to be a $100 energy audit now led to damage that would cost several hundred dollars to repair. From Larry's point of view, the ceiling drywall likely had pre-existing problems making it vulnerable to damage from the inspection, something he had no way of knowing. After a lot of discussion, Larry contributed $500 toward the costs of fixing the ceiling, a reasonable compromise for both parties since the drywall already appeared to have pre-existing issues. Through the experience, he was professional, responsive, and was 100% committed to finding a mutually agreeable solution months after the audit was completed. Even though I would have rather never gone through the experience, I have the highest level of respect for Larry's integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. I would gladly hire him again if we needed his services again."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Unionville, MD

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
