"We were in a bit of a mess and unhappy with a patio that had just been completed by another individual. After interviewing three guys, we chose Chadwick to get rid of the inferior patio and pour a new one. He worked quickly and at a fair price. He finished on the date we agreed upon and my husband and I are VERY happy with our new patio. We picked the right guy for the job! "After showing up several hours later than promised, and too late to complete the work as the sun was setting and temperature dropping into 40s, then not showing up the next day as promised, I had to call to find out what was going on. Again the workers did not showing up at the time promised, but were several hours late, and then the work performed appeared rushed and was very poor quality. The seal coating completely missed a couple large areas of the driveway, the grass was not edged back from the drive leaving the edges of the drive untreated with sealcoating, and I was left with questions about whether some of the cracks that were not filled should have been (to me some of the unfilled cracks looked to be larger than 1/4 inch). I texted pictures to Tim of the work, and he had his employees come back out to completely redo the driveway, and he came out himself to supervise and help. There were many different excuses given by Tim and the employees about the reasons for the poor communication and poor quality of the initial work (previous jobs took longer than expected, worker's partner was at hospital because of sick relative, two employees were new with one that had no sealcoating experience, etc). However the final work completed was A+ quality work and looks almost new again. Received many compliments on the final job, and my neighbors had Central Paving and Sealcoating do their driveway. The company came through and made everything right in the end, and we would most likely call them again when our driveway needs another sealcoating, but we would do so knowing not to expect excellent communication and punctuality. <br />"

"A different company was trying to convince me that my basement needed about $27,000 worth of basement repairs done; Mr. Halfar looked at the same issue and said "put some caulk on it and wait a few months to see whether it's an active problem or a seasonal shifting." His estimates on how to repair things if it did need repairs were around $3,000. I was really impressed by his honesty, his knowledge, and his willingness to take an approach that involved assessing the issue rather than jumping immediately to extremely expensive repairs. Right now I'm in the "wait and see" phase of the assessment, but if it turns out it does need repairing I'm definitely calling Mr. Halfar back. <br />"
