"Overall, Tom was personable, professional, and he got the job done fairly easily. I trusted his judgment in what kind of mounting hardware to use into the wall -- which was probably the one issue I had with how things went. Mr Handyman only provides their labor; the customer needs to provide ALL materials, which initially was challenging because the guy that I spoke to on the phone said that I had to wait until their guy arrived to even know what parts to get! He said the handyman would tell me what to get, and I'd need to go to the store -- while the guy is at my house -- and get the mounting hardware! (As a side note ... who would leave their house with someone they don't know inside it?). But then when I protested on the phone, he suggested I go to Home Depot and ask them, and get what they suggested (which made me wonder ... I'm hiring them for THEIR knowledge, right??). So my solution, which was the least painful in my mind, was to go to the hardware store and buy multiple different mounting options, and have them available for their guy to choose from (after which, I'll take the ones he didn't use back to the store). The only other point was the price, which, to explain ... Mr Handyman is a bit on the high side, because they charge for a full hour in addition to their service fee, even though Tom was only actually working at my house for about 30-40mins."

"Overall, the process went well. 8 weeks from order to install (first try). Everything was not done the first time due to an error in measurement - so new glass was ordered. Unfortunately, on round 2, the second picture window cracked - but 2 weeks later all done and looking good! As an aside, IWR was on time, the team hustled, and clean up after themselves. Second, 8 weeks was NOT an awful wait for a May order. Any construction firm with no backlog, might not have healthy orders."

"All went very well.  Ted had remodeled our kitchen several years ago, so we knew that we would receive high quality service.  Ted was able to squeeze our rather small project between some larger ones, which gave them extra incentive to work quickly.  Ted and his staff are very friendly and efficient - a pleasure to work with. <br /> Adding the new doors required a little carpentry work.  The shelving improvements that were made in our closets are a huge improvement.  This upgrade was a huge success - something we should have done long ago.  <br /> The job was completed in a little over two weeks.  Also included in the overall upgrade was carpeting, but that was from a separate contractor. <br /> He are very happy and will not hesitate to go to Put a Smile on Your Place Construction for our next major project. <br />   <br />"

"Carl removed  existing doors  and hardware and installed 2 new exterior doors with frames, which involved significant skill and experience as the orginal doors didn't fit very well and had shifted over the years.  The new doors swing true and don't scrape the floor as the old ones did, plus they seal very well and look great! <br /> Carl also removed some extensively water damaged wood below the doorwall and surrounding a window and replaced the wood expertly with  the same grain/texture and trim, matching the 20 year old existing siding and trim perfectly! I couldn't believe how well he was able to patch it up. He saved me from having to replace a whole window and he also pointed out some things I could do myself to help my house tolerate the winter better. I am so grateful for Carl's expertise; my father is a woodworker for 50 years, unable to do exterior work now, but even HE was impressed by Carl's skill and the reasonable pricing. <br /> Carl is a good communicator and although hardware store had an error with my door order and delayed the process, Carl would call frequently and follow up with me and them. He picked up the doors and all the materials himself. I give Carl my highest recommendation. I will definitely call him when I replace my deck in a couple years. <br />"
