"Very professional. The crew wrapped everything thoroughly and worked quickly and carefully. Had one instance of minor damage to the corner of our dresser, but the company came out within 48hrs and did a really good job repairing it. I have been in the military for 17 years so I have moved a lot with many different moving companies. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Very impressed with the company and the service."

"Excellent service from start to finish. My first contact with Martina was a pleasant experience. I had to change the date once and they were flexible. On the day of moving they were functual. We had 3 truck loads which was managed professionally. Natarajan Family"

"Mike has helped me move 3 times so far, and every time, the service is excellent. Their movers come right on time, if anything early, and get to work as quickly as possible. They've never broken anything (which is impressive given how many fragile hand blown glasses I have), they are fast and professional, and I've never seen furniture so well wrapped by any other company before. His prices are reasonable with the area, and as a realtor, I also recommend him to all my clients. I've worked with numerous other companies in the past, but Mike delivers every time, on time, and within budget. My 1 bedroom move typically takes them 3-4 hours to complete, and I have a full apartment of furniture and about 30-40 boxes on average."

"They arrived exactly on time and were very courteous and professional. They took great care not to damage anything while moving the furniture.  They actually charged us a bit less than their initial estimate over the phone. Overall I am very pleased, and would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"Move was great! Packing not as good. We are repeat customers. I moved from my townhouse into a single-family home about 2 years ago. i did all the packing myself and took the boxes over in a U-haul. I hired G&J Movers to move the furniture. They did a *fabulous* job. No damage to either house. So, when I moved again two weeks ago (into a larger house), I hired them again -- this time to pack and move. Again, they were excellent movers -- not damage to either house or to any of the furniture. They are not, however, very good packers. We are a military family and have moved 11 times in the past 25 years, so we have a lot of experience with packers & movers. The first thing that bothered me was that the packers are the same people as the movers. Professional packers have a different skillset than professional movers. I have two criticisms: 1) efficiency/excess packing material, and 2) disorganization/labeling. 1) - Efficiency: Professional packers can get my entire china and crystal into 3 dish packs -- it took this crew 6. They wrap everything in an excess of paper and put LOTS of wadded up paper on the bottom and between each layer. The good news is, nothing broke -- and this is the most important. The bad news is that it took them about 33% longer than it should have and they used about 33% more materials than they should have. This means the cost of my pack was about 33% more than it should have, as well. 2) Organization - When I unloaded the kitchen boxes, the coffee pot (which was altogether the morning of the pack) was disassembled and located in three different boxes. My knife block was in a book box labeled "canned" goods. Items that were in one drawer wound up in several boxes. Items that were in one cabinet wound up in several boxes. And everything from the kitchen was labeled "Kitchen - very fragile." It made it hard to find the *essential* items in order to get the kitchen to function quickly. In the office, we left the necessary cables with the monitors, but the wound up in different boxes. So - everything made it to the new house, and it all got there safely, but I feel like I overpaid for the pack because the packers weren't trained properly, and it was hard to unpack because things were disorganized and boxes were not labeled in a way that was useful. So - bottom line: I HIGHLY recommend G&J for moving services, but I would consider hiring "real" trained packers for the pack portion of your move."

"Do yourself a favor and call Jeff, the small-business owner of Potomac Moving Company. I had used him twice before when he was at a different company, so this was my third time using him. His prices can't be beat and service is top-notch. I have never had a problem with any of my moves. I can't say enough about his level of communication, customer service, professionalism, and dedication to making your move as smooth as possible. Nobody likes moving, but Jeff makes it a lot more bearable! Just call him for an estimate before you go with anyone else. You won't be disappointed. My move is finished and I don't plan to move again anytime soon, so I have nothing to gain except my best wishes that this enterprising, hard-working man succeeds at his young business."

FAQs for in-state moving service projects in Warrenton, VA

Laws differ from state to state, but the number one rule is that you cannot move a mobile home on your own. You have to hire a licensed mobile home moving company. While each state is different, you’ll also have to research HUD codes, permits, and other laws specific to the area to ensure your move follows all necessary regulations.

Yes, a permit is required to move a mobile home. You must secure permits in the state of origin and in every state through which the mobile home passes. When moving across state boundaries, obtain a permit for each state. Your moving company assists in acquiring all required permits, ensuring strict compliance with local regulations during the entire relocation process.

No, you cannot move a mobile home built before 1976. Mobile homes constructed before 1976 do not meet current safety standards and must not be relocated. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development enforces strict guidelines that prevent moving older models. Verify the build year and comply with all HUD regulations to ensure safety and legal compliance.
